Toyota Prius offers new green features

Tue, 09 Jun 2009
Motorists who prioritise green credentials when buying a car may be impressed with the latest edition of the Toyota Prius.

The manufacturer has revealed the vehicle - which is due out in the UK in August - comes with a number of features never seen before.

One such development is a solar-powered ventilation system that can keep the auto's interior cool without the engine having to be switched on.

Toyota pointed out this is much more environmentally-friendly than a traditional air conditioning unit.

On top of this, the T Spirit version of the vehicle can also be bought with another technological first.

Customers can opt for a Remote Air Conditioning unit that means they can set their optimum temperature before getting into the auto.

Prices for the car start at £18,370.

Meanwhile, Toyota recently revealed the model will also come with three driving modes, which are specially designed for different road conditions.
