What Car? announces Green Awards details

Tue, 24 Jun 2008
The winners of What Car?'s Green Awards are to be announced at the British International Motor Show, the publication has announced.

Prizes will be handed out across ten categories on the exhibition's Press Day - July 22nd 2008 - at 17:00 BST at the Greener Driving Pavilion, it added.

Motorists who pick up an eco-friendly model could find that they also gain cheaper car insurance policies, as some cover firms reward the environmentally-conscious.

What Car? group editor Steve Fowler stated that he is "delighted" with how proceedings are going, adding that the winners will be "great cars to own and run, without any compromises".

He said: "With increasing environmental concerns among car buyers, not to mention green taxes and spiralling fuel costs, the time is right for a recognised Green Awards."

On its website, What Car? reviews the latest models in the industry while also providing automotive news and opinion.
