Ferrari California ready for Festival of Speed

Wed, 24 Jun 2009
The Ferrari California making its UK debut next month has been fitted with private plates, it has been revealed.

Expected to wow the crowds at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, the model now bears the unique identifier F1 CAL.

DVLA Personalised Registrations revealed the luxury marque approached it for help in adding the final flourish to the vehicle.

The model is the first ever coupe cabriolet built by the prancing horse brand.

Commenting on the vehicle, regional manager for the manufacturer in north Europe Richard Gordon stated: "The world's press have driven it and, like ourselves, believe it to be a flawless GT."

He added: "We wanted the perfect registration to befit its desirability."

Meanwhile, when buying private plates online, customers can try their chosen item out on a range of different vehicles.

Figures from DVLA Registrations showed that between October 2008 and February 2009, 57,283 people opted to do so using Ferrari models.

In related motoring news, the manufacturer opened its first official UK store in London earlier this year.
