Goodwood Festival of Speed: Skoda to show past and future stars

Published 05 July 2013

Skoda is to make the most of the 20th Goodwood Festival of Speed by premiering the new Octavia vRS, alongside the title-winning Fabia S2000 rally car, which will be lapping the Forest Rally Stage driven by Freddy Loix and Sepp Wiegand.

Skoda’s new Octavia vRS will be on display both on and off the hill climb. It’s powered by either a 2.0 TSI with 220PS or a 2.0 TDI diesel with 185PS – the most powerful diesel engine fitted to a production Skoda, which is touted as the fastest production Octavia ever. Both estate and hatchback models will be available.

Skoda will also have a collection of classic Skoda models including the 130RS that won the European Touring Car Championship in 1981 and the 1101 Sport entered into the 1950 Le Mans 24 hour race – both of which will be driven up the hill.
