had the car 2 years .new timing belt +water pump at 40,000.seviced regularly serviced by Lookers.Cataclean before M.O.T. pass! 62,000 miles fine,no problems.smoke on excelleration.remedy,just had " Teraclean " treatment to engine . result no more smoke.very reliable car . regular servicing and a bit of high speed driving to clean the system seems to keep it running ok . would recomend one to anyone.

Hi all, on our way to spain when the heater hose split.
Took it off, repaired it and started it, all OK drove 300 miles close to Spain Border, then overheating light
Pulled up, looked and noticed there is back presure and water blowing from Radiator head tank.
So, limped it into a french town, Yes its Xmas Day, no joy here for a while.
But, I am suspecting Head Gasket, issue is, what else.....
This morning outside Motel room, I could not statrt it, so jumped it, and a white puff emmiting from number one injector area, got car started and still 1st injector puffing smoke, and yes water is pushing back through header tank.
Adding to this - I have good general understanding of cars, but this is beyond me, the car sounds OK when running, but the water back presure is making it impossible to move, if I tighten the header Radiator Cap it expands the hoses all of them too much, so there is a big issue, the Oil is OK NOT milky, thats about it, I am lost to what to do.... I agree with other posters who are suggesting that someone who is as inexperienced as the OP seems to be should consider buying from a reputable dealer. Even this can be far from straightforward - there are rogues here as well as in the private sector, but at least the Sale of Goods Act provides some back-up.
When buying privately, there is little legal back-up, unless the car has been specifically mis-described - in an advert, or by word of mouth (difficult to prove)....

By far the cheapest and easiest way would be to get a second hand one from a scrapyard, if you don't have one locally there are plenty being broken on ebay.

I'm afraid the number given is not the serial number of the radio.
The correct serial number will be in the form M123456 or V123456, where 123456 is any six digit number....
After a long time thinking about it went for a Kia Rio 2 to replace the chevrolet. seating position is better, and a bit smaller, lower road "tax" £30, less to insure, better fuel economy.
Bit obliged to change as the cruze had a malfunction light diagnosed as lambda/oxygen sensor so traded as is, trade in price reflects this, so not too unhappy, and a 1 year old rio about £5000 off new list. It si a rio 2 mettalic paint and most of the toys, so will update after some miles... Read more
