Hi I wonder if you guys can help. I have a 1998 Frontera 2.0 petrol. I have changed the thermostat and flushed the cooling system through for ages. It is all back together again. I have tried to start it but, it cranks but will not start. I think the alarm siren has been removed previously but there is a ticking noise coming from the alarm box. I have one key but do not have the remote part just the key. Central locking works, it cranks, the engine management light stays on but it wont start. I have tried to plug my scanner in but there is no power to the obd socket. I'm at a loss.

Your help would be appreciated. Read more

Hello,

for some time now (several years!!!)there has been an increasingly nasty clunking noise from the area of the diff. ONLY when the vehicle is coasting in "over run"or coming to a stop after a long hot run. e.g the other day on approaching Dartford Crossing put gear into neutral and coasted slowly in the queue and dreadful clunk, clunk at each slow rev of the prop shaft. Being an ex-ambulance I believe it has a limited slip diff. Very disconcerting when on the continent and you don't know when it will finally pack up and cause grief.... Read more

I agree with advice to check universal joints. I well remember the loud clunking from the UJs on the swing axles of the small Triumphs. That too only came when slowing down.

hi,
Am having problems with the interior heater,I have replaced the heater resistor twice now in the past two months and now gone again.
Heater only works on number 4,and is now making a strange noise, could this be the heater fan needs replacing as well as a new resistor.
All comments would be of help thanks all.

Arnold Clark dealers have been mooted as a dealer large enough to be relied upon, they scored a whopping 1.4 out of 5 on the Review Centre. It was only out of 429 reviews and over some considerable period of time. If you take the last 12 months reviews, they amount to 105 reviews (a drop in the ocean for their overall sales, I suspect) however the approval rating is still palpably low, yet consistent.

This doesn't mean the cars are necessarily bad, it may just be the service received was wanting. If I were asked to give an opinion on certain Mazda and VW dealers, it would be comparably unfavourable. It's largely down to your experience and expectations....

We received a V5C (log book) through the post a couple of days ago. But we have not bought or sold a car for several years.
We do not know the person who the V5C belongs to.

The last registered keeper was nearby, so we went round and asked. He was well dodgy, complete with pit bull terrier.
"I put the wrong address in", he said.

So we gave him the V5C and asked him to contact the buyer. The buyer is also nearby.

Yesterday, we got a DVLC letter saying that the car has no road tax, because a standing order failed. Apply for SORN etc.

I guess the next step is to contact DVLC and try to get it sorted. What a pain!
I am worried that speeding tickets, parking fines and other official documents will start coming our way.

It is probably worthwhile to check your credit record with Experian. I did this a while back and found a woman had been living with us whom my wife and I never encounteredd in our 40 years as residents. Luckily no problems emerged.

So that's what you told your wide ;-) LOL

Because there is a limit and no one person can exactly say what is an ok amount to drink , people take the change that all will be fine if they have a few drinks. So until the limit is Zero nothing will change.
