Is there any (realistic) way to contact HA about roadworks?
I'd like to know what they're playing at on the A1(M) between Durham and Chester-le-Street as they have 3 miles of 'contraflow' which is causing problems all the time. They obviously not doing any work whatsoever (the roadworks are a mess, aren't being maintained and are covered in debris etc)... Read more

I've been having a problem with the heating and AC in my wife's car for a while but as it gets colder the nagging gets louder.
When I turn on the heating it doesn't always come on straight away, sometimes it doesn't come on at all, sometimes after a random amount of time. If I understand correctly the heater should only start blowing once the car has warmed up, but this is not the case. I could be driving for a while before it starts to blow. ... Read more
The blower/fan motor should work as soon as the engine is running, either hot or cold.I would suggest you take it to a specialist that understands how the system works and can fix it at a more economic cost, without using genuine GM parts.

We don't need the same thread in two different sections.
In May 2014 I bought my son a Vauxhall corsa 52 reg from car dealer. The guy assured me that the car was in great condition and he would put his own kid in it. So 3 months in to owning the car my borrows the car, the steering is not right, she took it a garage the tyres needed changing as they were down to cord, cv joints gone, bearings completely shot total cost of repair 621.00 Then November the head gasket goes, plus other bits and bobs another 600.00 bill. Plus car has no heat only to find out previous owner filled the rad with rad weald. So car now stands me in £2.200 This morning, son says oil light staying on, diagnostic oil pump gone. Where do I stand with this dealer? Who wont take my calls 7 months in and already the cost is mounting up. Do I have legal case or will just be the cars old, wear and tear Read more

Unfortunately you have one of the "prince " engines which have become notoriosly unreliable (shared with many Peugeot/Citroen models).Hopefully the engine will be able to be rebuilt,as sourcing a s/hand unit will most likely give you the same trouble. The earlier model Mini, pre 2006 uses a Chrysler engine which is a totally different beast, and is not interchangeable.

The locking problem is a faulty latch/actuator in the drivers door.Common problem on these ,and part costs around £120.If the bulbs in the dash are standard illumination bulbs, then I can't see why it is not possible to replace them. They could be leds, which would mean a more specialist repair. Are you sure the dash dimmer is not turned down,if there is one fitted?
Hi All
I'm new to this forum but thought it a good idea to join.
Ive recently bought a nice ( or at least thought it was) 2002 S-type 3.0SE. Anyway, whilst driving it home and subsequently using it since Sunday. I've had issues with the gearbox which escaleted this afternoon. The problem started with a lurching issue through the gears, especially in first and second. Then it became an issue when slowing down from second to first gear, however this afternoon after pulling away, the car accelerated but the gears would not engage. This then resulted in the gearbox light coming on and then the engine management light. I had 4th gear for a few miles and then got home. I turned the engine off and restarted the engine then the gearbox light went off, however the engine light is still on. Engine wise, its still running sweet but the gearbox still has intermittent issues with no real fault pattern. Sometimes its fine, then it plays up.
Tomorrow its going into the specialist and they think its a sensor issue, I'm however worried the gearbox has given up the ghost. Also, I don't understand why the engine light is now on.
Can anybody help and does the sensor cause this kind of problem ? Read more
The engine and gearbox electronics work in conjunction with each other,so it is possible that an engine malfunction could cause the gearbox to not function correctly.Like wise if the abs light comes on,it will illuminate the engine Mil.You need to get the systems analysed to go any further.
