Hi all - I am in need of a code for my transit radio - ford wanted to charge £18 which I think a bit excessive. My serial no is m253633 and part no: ys6f-18k876-da. can anyone please help? also I am currently locked out of this thing (my jedi guessing skills were weak) but i have heard that there is a number sequence that you can press to give you one last go. Any info on either of the above greatly appreciated. many thanks in advance. Kai Read more

My neighbour has a MINI one - (petrol) and has owned it about 1 year from new in 2013. From day one since she had it she complained that it cuts out when stopping at junctions and lights, also occasionally when driving slowly in traffic and soon after pulling away from slowing.. She has to go through a full start procedure each time. It has been back to the dealers several times - they have said there is no fault! She is rightly concerned that it could be dangerous, and is frustrated at the dealer's lack of response.
Has any one had similar experience? I note a lot of posts about the desiel versions cutting out. Is it one eco-feature too far? Read more
Did you find a solution to this??
I have the same mini as you, also 2007 and it keeps cutting out on me usually whilst slowing down at junctions or in the middle of roundabouts, but it also cut out on me yesterday doing 65mph on a motorway! I wasn’t even slowing down so I’m not sure why it happened.
I had the O2 sensor fixed a few weeks ago and had a full service two weeks ago and the problem is still happening, everyone keeps telling me it’s just the way I drive because there’s no problems coming up but surely it’s not?
I’ve also had to refill my oil about 3/4 times since November because, 2 of those times have been within 3 weeks of each other because it has been completely empty.
There’s no leak either apparently so I have no idea what’s going on??
Hi there iv recently had my battery disconnected and was wondering if anybody could help me out by providing me with a radio code that actually works. Was charges 10 pounds for a code that was probably a guess. Thanks In advance serial number is M291795 Read more

I've put them in my rear suspension trailing arms but am now wondering if I've done the right thing. The original bushes were rubber incased in a metal body, because they have a softer material they act as a dampener.
The poly ones feel harder at the rear when driving . Could they cause damage else where in the suspension?... Read more
Ah so the steel insert acts as a bearing and some rotation occurs around it. If this is the case then the sides of the bush must be wearing against the inside of the mounting bracket., which seems a bit crude.
Do you not think that the designers considered this when specifying the material they use....
HI.... I have a 2006 Zafira 1.9 CDTI SRi. Done 120k. I havnt had this for long only about 6 weeks and i have rarely been able to drive it!!Read more
When im driving along the engine stalls and cuts out forcing me to pull over quickly as pressing the accel pedal has no effect. The dash lights will light up, if i turn the key straight away it just attempts to start and just turns over. If i take out the key and try again it starts up perfectly no problems and i can just be on my way. This has made my car into a death trap! And it is just completely random, not when going over bumps, turning a direction or putting my foot down its completely random.
It does this hot and cold and on motorways or driving 30mph and also when in idle just ticking over it just stalls by itself. Ive noticed sometimes when its playing up the trip screen says ' battery remote control'
No fault codes have been found as yet but once it did flash up CIM module? Will i need an auto electrician and does anybody think it might be the ECU?
I have had a few things done to the car to test to see if it would fix it,
Fuel filter changed - was realllllllly dirty!! (obv never been changed)
Throttle body cleaned
EGR cleaned
DPF checked
Fuse box cleaned and checked - no visible dodgy wires or blown fuses
Oil filter change and new oil
Injectors tested - all working but not at their best
New cam belt (this had also never been changed!!)
And replaced the crank sensor.
It has just also passed its MOT with flying colours!
Has anybody else has this problem? I love the car and dont want to give it up for a refund as ive put alot of time, money and stress into this.
I would appreciate any ideas as im close to losing the plot!!
Becky xx
I also have the same problem, I cleaned throttle body and it has just worked for 6 days in a normal way and I faced the same problem after 6 days. Could you share how you fixed the problem, please? Thanks in advance.
Our 2008 Mini boot switch seems to have stopped working. The boot can still be opened with the keyfob and the latch can be seem to work when using the keyfob. I guess the boot switch has just failed (the number plate lights in the assembly are still working so power is getting there)
The only thing is, the switch itself is sealed into the strip assembly, with plastic welded edges and a sealed rubber switch cover, which is good sense for waterproofing but means repair is tricky!... Read more
Managed to get a multimeter on the switch terminals while someone pressed the button and it showed an open circuit, so it does look like the switch is gone!
I see what you mean about new - they're £65 on ebay for new chrome ones, and £50 for second hand black ones, hardly worth the risk!...
My Mrs has recently bought a Mk7 Golf 1.6 TDi. The car itself drives well with no issues and she is happy with it but I noticed the other evening that, after shutting the engine down, the cooling fan is on for what seems like a long time. I have only noticed it once and this was after a vgery short run of less than 10 mins from cold. Temp gauge had not even reached 90c which is the normal position for it when fully warmed up.
I am just curious as I own a Passat TDi and have no such issue.... Read more
My previous car (Mk6 Golf 2.0 TDi) did the same thing. Never noticed it doing a regeneration while driving, only noticed after switching the engine off when the fan kept running, while producing a characteristic smell of oil/diesel & hot rubber. Sometimes it would happen twice in one week, other times it would go several weeks without it happening.
Never understood why they don't have an indication on the dash to let you know a regeneration is running so you can decide whether to keep driving in order that it completes the process....
The DPF indicator on my 2009 Mazda3 2.0 D Sport started flashing.
At first I thought this was serious, but it transpired it was just the service interval indicator needed reseting.
I had changed the oil and filter on schedule, but had been unable to find reference to resetting the service interval, and some 1000 - to 2000 miles later the "DPF" started flashing.
Some research on the net re-assured me it was just the service interval, BUT, I could find no way of resetting it without a Mazda specific computer ( Can not be done with an ODBII reader as it isn't a "Fault" ). I could see the sevice interval on my ELM327 based service tool but couldn't reset it.
There are a couple of Web pages on the net re: resetting Mazda 6, and Mazda 5 cars, and by amalgamating the info from these, plus some guess work, I eventually managed to reset the service counter.
DISCLAIMER :- This is what I did, and it worked for me. You get what you pay for, and this information is free ! I am not responsible for you wrecking you car because your not an authorised Mazda Technician !
Here's how I did it :-
IMPORTANT: If the DPF light is up, but solid, it does NOT need this proceedure, it needs the DPF regenerating, and if that doesn't work, the DPF replacing ( or deleting ? !)
1) Locate the 6 pin service commector under the bonnet. It is just behind the bonnet catch, on the loom that passes from left to right along the top of the radiator.
2) With a length of wire / cable ( approx 2 metres) connect pin "E" - the top right one, when the locking tang receptical is on top- to a good earth ( I use a pair of locking grip pliers on the battery negative terminal)
3) Get in the drivers seat and close all doors ( including the tailgate). This is the "step" that caught me out !
4) Do not start the engine, but switch on the dash using the key.
5) Pump the accelerator pedal quite quickly, over it's full range, ten times.
6) The glow heater symbol should start flashing as well. If not switch off ingnition and repeat from step 4, with a different cadance on the accelerator pedal
7) Wait 20 seconds, and switch off.
8) Remove the earth wire, and every thing should be back to normal... Read more
I have a warning message on my display that says "low oil pressure".
I have just changed the oil filter and oil and now this warning is showing up. Everything was fine beforehand.
I have a 2009 Citroen Berlingo 1.6 HDI Diesel / 78600 km.
I was wondering if it was something I did or is there a reset I need to do.
Thanks Chris... Read more
Do you get the message just after the engine is started, or all the time it's running?
If it's the former, it could be that the oil filter doesn't have an anti drain valve that works. I would fit a new OEM spec filter asap if that's the case.
