I've had my i10 for 2 1/2 years now and it's been good. The back brakes have an annoying squeak but the dealer says they are aware of the problem, the pad material is too hard apparently. They have been checked on service and the brakes still work well though. There was an annoying intermittent buzz coming from the car somewhere and after my investigation it was the front left headlight height adjuster, on service the dealer said ok we know about that, said it was the switch and replaced it. Perfect. Before this week twice in 2 years the car wouldn't start first time, I thought I had flooded it. Got it going though. Monday morning, 17 Sept, it wouldn't start at all although the engine was throwing over like a good 'un, Monday PM it started. Tuesday evening it wouldn't start. A call to the dealer on Wednesday morning who said "Try the other key", it worked. I took the car in. It was tested "on the computer" and no fault found but I was told this happens but not often and the likely cause is the key aerial behind the ignition lock. This was replaced, the keys re-chipped and this morning it started first time. In 47 years of motoring this was the first time that I have ever had a car fail to start (a rare event) that I could not fix quickly myself and get going - progress, maybe. Read more
I would say you're lucky they diagnosed that problem so quickly. Lots of garages failed to do it on my partner's Saxo which had the same symptoms and solution. A forum member pointed us in the right direction when we eventually posted the problem on here. What a useful forum this is!
Love Audis but dont love this one,the angular front has gone and the rear view mirror appeal is none existent cant wait to see in the flesh but the old a3 looks more masculine (for a girls car)rs3 excluded.

The diesel particulate filter light on the dash board has just started tocomes on but there appears to be no DPF.
The cat is a one piece unit so what is causing the light to come on.... Read more
If its a 2.0, 8 valve engine it won't have a DPF, the 2.2 version does though so I would think that the light is fitted but not normally used on the 2.0L , I suspect you have an electrical gremlin.
My daughters radio stopped working. I have checked both fuses and thet are ok. When I took it out of dash I noticed a thin white wire with a small black plug on the end, this wire came out of the bottom(black) plug on radio. I can't find anywhere where this plugs into. Maybe this is the reason radio won't work or isn't used. Any ideas? Thanks. The radio is a standard Blaupunkt 2040 with CD player in boot. Read more
Thanks for that. I tried another radio and that didn't work either.
My corsa b broke down and i have been told it's going to cost too much for what the car is worth because head gasket is flooded and gone. I am desperate for a car and have found a renault clio 2002, it has had a snapped timing belt and head gasket replaced. Is it still worth purchasing, any help would be gratefully received. Read more
Unless this is a non-interference engine, the valves will have been bent, and probably guides and seals-and should have been replaced.
I have recently bought a 2001 mondeo, troible is only one key. I need a spare key with remote that set and unsets the alarm and immobliser. do I have to go to Ford for that or is there a cheap and effective alternative? I cant program spares for the immobliser without two keys so it has to be "proper" Thanks. Read more
You don,t need to use a Ford dealer, but I would suggest a member of this group could help.autolocksmiths.net. Your local key cutter will probably offer you a "clone key" but these are totally unreliable.hth
Hi
Joined here as maybe someone can help Im a non driver but my other half owns and drives a 52 plated Nissan Micra Tempest Of late we have experienced a problem in that when it rains we get a wet floor in the passenger footwell The water seems to come from somewhere behind or under the glove box area (the drips come about where the driving controls would be is they where on that side, is that makes sense) The heavier the rain, the worse the drips Now I have cleaned out the gutters at the side of the door I have managed to use a thin piece of wire to clean these out fully and they seem to run off to the drain behind the wheel ok but still we get the leak I have no idea what else to try and hope someone here can help (mainly in idiots languages as, like said im a non driver, and maybe even with pics) Anyone able to solve this ?Has it got a sunroof? If so check the drain tubes are attached and not blocked.
I have a 57 reg transit 2.2 desiel I put About a litre too much oil in and drove 100 mile then it stated stalling at idle I drained off excess oil but it's still stalling what can cause this and what Do i do theres no smoke or power loss the air filter is new and clean, the van does purr when idling but it did this before the oil incident, some times the van will idle for 5 mins before stalling other times you pull up at a junction and it dies as soon as you put you foot on the clutch, it has been on a diagnostics machine and shows no faults Apart from a clutch switch

The 'ZTG' part actually looks like ZYG to me! Anyone else agree? Read more
HJ - Out of interest - has anyone told the owner of the moped about this mistaken identity? I hate to think the owner has been / is about to be prosecuted for this now that the mistake has been pointed out.
