My daughter's mini (56 reg) was supplied with run flat tyres. They were replaced about 2 years ago.
I recently found one of the tyres to be loosing pressure, so she took the car to a tyre fitting company for investigation. They said that two of the tyres had worn treads (including the one loosing air) and should be be replaced. She was advised to have all four tyres changed. But because of the high price of run flats the fitter replaced them ordinary tyres, saying that it was quite legal.... Read more
You would have to ask the AA what they would do,If you cannot afford run flat tyres then one of the alternatives is to by a spare wheel.
Hi im having problems with my focus tddi, when on the way up to running temperature the oil light flickers and then on fully at running temperature, oil and oil filter change was about 2000-3000 miles ago, took it to the local garage and they said the switch is fine and had an oil pressure test done which confirmed low pressure, iv now had a new oil pump fitted and iv still got the same problem, the oil pickup doesn't seem blocked either. This could be coincidence but there is a lack of power as if the turbo isnt working even tho i can hear it and when idling there is alot of rattling. Any help is much appreciated. Read more
If the turbo bearings have failed the oil could be bypassing them and flowing straight back to the sump but I would have thought you would have had blue exhaust smoke as well.

I have changed my mind on tax exmption for classic cars. I now see no reason why they should be exempt.
Noticed a wobbly mirror today and when I got home gave it a prod. The glass came away from its backing plate unbroken.
Car is old so no need for a new glass which is quite expensive. Question is how to stick the glass back to its heated backing plate. Superglue round the edges? Thought of double sided sticky tape but that might not work with the heat.... Read more
If you want something to stick to plain glass there is nothing better than silicone adhesive but it doesn't stick to other things so well.

Almost certainly not. I wanted a scangauge (which requires OBD2) but my 1997 car is not OBD2 compliant. All US cars were OBD2 compliant from '96, but the Euro spec cars did not need to be compliant until 2000.
