Hi,
My drivers window works fine on the button. But when I push it all the way down the passenger window automatically opens itself. I then push the passenger window button and it judders back up again. Yesterday as soon as let go (usually when you push it you can let go and it will automatically wind all the way up) it went back down again without me pressing the down button. In the end after about 8 attempts I got it back up. It only goes a bit haywire when the drivers window is fully down. But when you operate it on its own it is a bit temperamental.... Read more

From what an ex Pug salaes told me (!) -
The garage will get the unique code attached to your car, from Pug, re-enter this in to the ECU/Immobiliser, thus linking the 2 again and allowing the immobiliser to disengage....
Hi i'm looking for some advice. I have had two instances recently where the following has happened when starting the car.
When i start up the engine it fires ok, but then the revs keep going up and down almost to the verge of stalling. Then for a few seconds the revs seem fine, but then proceed to go upto 2500rpm and will not move when i depress the accelerator. At this point the battery warning light comes on as well. The battery is less than 6months old.... Read more

These are very impressive savings from these models to beat. This will surely spurn the sale of these two cars. Read more

Agreed - it's about time the authorities took stern action about illegal mobile usage by drivers .... and make it very clear this activity will not be tolerated.
It needs to be elevated on par with drink driving - loss of licence etc - in my view it's a bigger danger than driving a few mph over the speed limit for which there tends to be no shortage of activity....
Is it just me or are there hundreds of cars driving around with one headlight working. It's frightening if motorists won't even keep their cars legal and roadworthy by changing a bulb, what else are they not doing, tyres, wiperblades, rear lights, etc.
it takes only minutes to change a bulb on most cars even on an AYGO, whilst replacing one in my sons car I shedded my fingers. Happy days. Read more
Little hands make light work?
And I thought the bulbs were difficult to change on my Mk6 Fiesta! They're simplicity itself compared to some of the stories above! I've actually made it a bit easier by changing the three torx screws holding each headlamp for Acme screws with a 10mm hex head (all car-parts shops sell them) - easier to remove using a tiny ratchet handle.. And I've found Osram H4 bulbs which claim to be long-life on the Internet. Since fitting those I've seen Philips Ecovision H4 bulbs which claim to take a lower current than standard bulbs (and so use less fuel) and they also claim to last longer than standard bulbs. I've previously fitted sidelight bulbs (the little wedge-fitting 5w ones) that haven't lasted a month in Winter, but the more expensive ones from Halfords have lasted over twelve months....

I really don't know - it may look the same, but is it the same....? The pipe has so many <rigid> bends in it, to pass around various other components, that it MUST be the correct type. And it don't consider trying to bend.force it, either!
The only way to check would be to go to a friendly VW dealer (do they exist? I only know 2 out of many!) and get them to check via the parts system as to what is interchangeable with what....
