Hi,
I had the misfortune to lose battery power and, following a single journey, the 'two strikes and you're out' philosophy' of Nissan cut in and the car became immobilised. Neither I or the AA could bring it back to life so I sent it to the Nissan delaer in Northampton to sort it. They spent five days with the car and eventually reported that the EPS module within the power steering assembly was not responding on start up and the error code suggested a dead electronics module. Their solution was a new assembly at £1,500 including fitting, maybe more than half the current value of the car.... Read more

Jolly dangerous if it is.
Late on Saturday nights, they often post 'advisory speed limits' on the M25 as you approach night time road works. While the advised speed is usually right for the roadworks, the signs appear before them on a clear road, and if you really did 30mph on an otherwise clear motorway you are asking to get rammed in the back.

Not on this model. If you lift the rear seat cushion you will see a large access port. This is only a fuel gauge sender unit.hth
Bought new from main dealer at end of October, noticed small hole in back of drivers seat.Told they would sort it under warranty, now getting the run around, alsorts of excuses, twisted seat frame, cover made in China seat in India or vice versa.Been told to just put some super glue on it to stop it getting worse.Just want to get it sorted out properly.

You really only have one Hyundai dealer near you? The majority of Hyundai dealers are very good, seems you picked a bad one. Why didn't you go to another dealer?...

I looking to change cars in the next 18 months Ive never had a Mazda before, but the 175bhp engine in the upcoming CX-5 looks really good on paper. The only issue i see is the car may be too light to tow my 1556kg caravan. What do readers think to Mazda reliability and dealers in the S.Yorkshire area. I currently am on my second Xtrail, a 171bhp version, but find the 2L version not great on low end torque, as my previous 2.2 diesel was.So the Mazda 2.2 twin turbo promises good torque from low revs upto a high 5.5K revs. But with class leading emission's, and economy. I have a petrol Mazda 6. I've never pulled a caravan with it though. I've had it about 18 months and I couldn't be more happy with it. It's rolled past 98k on the clock recently (it's 6 years old) and it handles very nicely indeed. Reasonable tax, insurance and fuel economy. Cheap servicing and parts (not that I've had anything beyond a headlight bulb).
There are many stories about DPF failure on the Mazda 6 diesels, but if you're going for a very new one I find it hard to believe they aren't sorting that out. Having said that., I run my petrol one very large distances and probably should have a diesel for fuel economy but I've got what I've got.
Why when someone has a problem in Technical can't they just give more information of the problem to hand rather than "car cuts out" etc?
Make, model , year, fuel type needs to be in the information better still before it can be posted up.... Read more
Yes. Low emissivity (0.05 at most) and high reflectivity to e-m radiation.
Hi i have emissions light on permanently ,its been on for about a week now . The car runs fine and ticks over fine . I have been driving like a grandad i have to admit trying to save money .Since the light came on i have been driving the car hard to try and clear the light only up to about 4000rpm . My question is what could the problem be , do i have to plug in to diagnostics machine to clear . As i said earlier at the moment it runs fine . Should i worry about it ? . Regards. Read more
Inner joint posible but unlikely, it could be the centre bearing though, replacing the shaft would fix either. Don't know how much driveshafts are but I would think a secondhand one wouldn't cost much.
