I'm interested in hearing in those who have had their DPF removed. Most companies also offer/perform a remap at the same time
Was the performance increased?... Read more
Have spotted one of these I am really keen on with about 25k on the clock inc full dealer service history.
Are there any known issues or problems with these that I should look out for? I seem to remember reading about them using an excessive amount of oil but not sure if that was just someone with a problem car.... Read more
there's a few common problems faults (as with all cars) Battery drain, Premature clutch wear, Premature DMF wear Leaking seals around doors, More and more turbo related problems emerging now (I read they use the same turbo as BMW - haven't looked into it much though) The chain can 'slip' Honda have increased their warranty on this - not sure what to though, best to contact a local dealer
I recently purchased a 1.3cdti Corsa on a 2005 plate with 47k on the clock, FSH from a main dealer, however after just over a week of ownership I’m having some problems:... Read more

I have repeated problems with a flat battery on our 2006 Chrysler Grand Voyager 2,8 Turbo Diesel, usually after the car hasn't been used for a few days. Battery has been tested and always charges quickly after a jump start from another car. We have a Dynamic Jump Start, which I subsequently discovered was designed for cars up to 2.0, that doesn't even turn the engine over. Has anyone experienced similar problems with this car and been able to cure the issue ? Can anyone recommend a suitable Jump Starter and a solar powered trickle charger ? Many thanks for any help. Here is a pic of my ignition, the only buttons I see are the wing mirrors and the traction control.
I need help as I cannot find what’s wrong with my car it barely revs above 3000 rpm when under load or when driving although it revs to the limit when static, exhaust burns clean no excessive smoke or any noises from the engine, is very economical returning 55 mpg, It will only do 85mph downhill with the wind behind it. It is the Y17DTL engine with no air charger. I bought the car without road testing it and the guy refused to take it back saying it was sold as seen so I have no history of why this fault exists. I will list everything I have done to date so perhaps you can suggest some ideas!
1. Engine flushed and new oil air and fuel filters, removed the pick-up unit in the fuel tank and cleaned the plastic gauze (although not dirty and the bottom of the fuel tank was clean) siphoned fuel out at the filter head to confirm clear fuel feed to filter.... Read more
Right Ive sused it!
After trying most things, found that it was a rubbr seal on the inlet to the turbo that had been installed incorectly and ad was restricting the air flow....
Hi
My engine management light came on and car became jerky, this seemed to happen more when sitting at a junction or pulling away! Took it to garage who changed the exhaust, didn't help!
Took it to be put onto the diagnostic machine, cylinder 1 misfire. Coil 1 was swapped with 3, the problem didn't follow! He checked the compression and cylinder one had no compression and cylinder 3 had a reading of 150!
I was told I would need the cylinder head replaced and it would cost 900! I phoned verve and told them the same, they have quoted 1500!
After a week of freaking out I called another garage who tell me it could be the timing belt needs replaced and that could cause all the same symptoms! Is this true and what should the costs be?

Hi Amanda
Thank you for sharing this. Can I ask you what was the outcome of your polo adventure? I have been having the same problem for the past year. Mine is a 1.2L 05 plate and the jerkiness started when it was only 36000 mile. As long as I keep the accelerator down when the car is stationary, the jerkiness disappears....
Hi
About a year ago I traded in my car at a small car sales garage and posted the trader bit of the V5 off to the dvla. A couple of weeks later we moved house, but never thought any more about it. Last week we have received a letter from a bailiff company saying we have a £250 fine for not telling the dvla we had sold the vehicle to a motor trader plus £75 costs. Looks like they may have just traced us to our new address, but I have never before heard of a fine for not telling them we had sold the vehicle. I have heard of fines for not sorning, and for fines for the new keeper if the dvla never got our notice of selling, but this appears to be a fine just for not telling them we had sold the vehicle (even though we did post it). Is there anything we can do on this, as we genuinely did send the notice off, and this is the first we have heard of the magistrates court order they say they have. Read more
As the last post on this thread was in early 2012, you may not get much response from the original participants (although there may well be others here with horror stories).
If you have not already done so, I suggest that you reiterate that appeal on the pepipoo (google it) forums, who specialise in advising on spurious and unjustified motoring related fines....
Hi guys,
I have had my fair share of DPF problems with my Mazda 6 but the ones im having with our VW Crafter is frustrating to say the least.... Read more
Simple but illegal solution offered by lots of companies is DPF Deletion
A3(M) was closed yesterday afternoon/evening due to a broken down lorry and fuel spillage and at midnight the workman were out resurfacing the road. So, what does diesel do to a road surface requiring it to be relaid? Does it dissolve it? Is it absorbed into the surface with the risk of it floating to the surface when it rains? Read more
The question should be; "what does diesel do to your lungs".
Never mind the tarmac....
Could some one let me know the oil capacity with a filter change. This is a 2005 registered car but before the 2005 update/facelift.
I`ve been told it's about 3.8L but read some where that it's 4.2l. Confused, I am. Not a drama but just want to get some oil for an oil change. Would rather not get the 5l as it's cheaper for 4x1L.... Read more
Thanks for that guys, I didn't have to handbook handy as the car was away. It made a difference of about £2.00 so I bought the 5L... Useful link for Coma Oils site - thanks again. I'll hopefully get the service done in a couple of days...
Had it unblocked, as was the egr valve. However the egr appears to have righted itself. No warning light now! Bonus! Now though the rear caliper sliders and pins have started seizing. Had new pads on both rear wheels! Standard! Pin was greased and it was fine for 12 hours. Now its back and worse. My bro in law is mechanic but lives in london, I am in devon. He said just replace pins and slider on dodgy wheel. Garage says need new calipers. Mmmm not sure bout that. Any suggestions?
