Hi, I just bought a 55 plate focus 1.6 TDCI. Round town it has been fine, but I've noticed on the motorway, doing anything above about 60 mph, that when I take my foot off the accelerator, a lot of white smoke pours out of the back. Nothing comes out while I have my foot on the gas, and as soon as I put my foot back down, the white smoke stops. I've only had the car a week, so I think the 3 month warranty should help me out if it's something mechanical. Any ideas?
Thanks a lot,
Sam. Read more
Hi all, just an update on this (see previous posts and www.fullwayfullrun.com/ for other relevant links). It seems that Trading Standards are now investigating the Fullway Snowtrak tyre and tyring to find info as to whether it is full-spec winter tyre or not - or some kind of copy of the Vredestein Snowtrac (c rather than k).
Please let me know if you have had a Fullway and if it's any good. Ta.... Read more
I use Vredestein Snowtrac at the moment and I'm delighted with the grip on snow and ice. My Google search brought up a picture of the Fullway Snowtrak-with-a-'k' and the tread pattern is a copy of the Vredestein Snowtrac 3 tyre. Now, neither web-site for Fullway or Fullrun gives any details of their tyre construction or tread compound, but in comparison, Vredestein's web site - www.apollovredestein.com - is quite boastful of the research put into the tread compound of a Winter tyre. Also, the web-sites for Michelin and Nokian tyres are very informative and well worth a look. I've e-mailed Vredestein UK and asked for their comments on the Fullway Snowtrak copies, but alas, they haven't replied!

I notice that both the front door mirror indicator glass have a fair amount of moisture inside them. Should this be happening or is there a seal problem ? (if anymore moisture gets inside there will be enough for a Seal to swim around in) Read more

We are covered in a blanket of snow up here in the NW. Winter tyres performed admirably on some quite slippy surfaces so Dunlop get a thumbs up from me. Read more

Hi all,
I just wanted to report a fix for the sudden loss of power problem, you know the thing, your driving along and suddenly the car losses power it still works but it's almost as if the car has gone into a "limp home" mode, switching the engine on and off "solves" the problem, for a time anyway, Nissan wanted £1,200! for a new fuel pump, but the culprit (in my case) is a fuel flow regulator valve, fixed by my mechanic for £50. They should do away with road tax & put it on fuel, then I'd you use your vehicle you pay, if you park it up you don't. Read more
Frequently I struggle to start car. The ignition turns over with difficultly and the engine takes a wbout 4-5 seconds before firing up.50% of the time the engine doesnt fire up at all.. Also the wipers engage by themselves when trying to start the car and a strange message appears on the computer display saying passenger airbag disconnected ( which is false). I can sometimes get the car to start but most times i just hear the starter motor or even just a click sound. Also the car doesnt run in neutral as smoothly as it did , the revs increasing and decreasing and with more vibrations than normal. . The car was serviced at renault 2 months ago (400 quid!!!!) but every time i take it there, it seems to experience more problems, You would not believe the number of problems we have had with this car in just 4 years! I dont know what the reno service is like in the UK but here in Mexico it is pretty awful!

If its white smoke that's usually unburnt fuel, could be an injector problem.
