My Focus 2 (2007) is superb except for the paintwork which scratches incredibly easily. I know modern water based paints aren't that good, but can they really be this bad? The bodywork of my metallic Tonic blue Focus is covered with small scratches simply caused by catching finger nails etc on it. These are only cosmetic, and don't go through the paint, but still look a mess.
Is this the norm for modern paints, are they particularly bad on Fords, or is it just the paint on my car that is poor? Does anyone else have any observations on this? Read more
Please please please help, I am the owner of an A6 that has had the usual oil pump failure problem, but this has gone onto further issues, after not going through Audi (they wanted £7500) to get the engine re-built i took it to an independant engine re-contioner, they charged me less but now i can see why, I am left with a re-build engine minus 4 injectors which they cannot source. Does any one out there know of some where i can get hold of 4 recontioned diesel injectors for a pd engine (part number 03G130 073D) with out having to sell my children :-( Any help greatly appreciated as i have now been with out my car for coming upto 4 months Read more
They are 390ukp each on ebay new for these Siemens injectors. There is a injector company in Elland that will recon your old units.

My daughter in law had one a 1.4 petrol and I drove it a few times. Seemed well screwed together, went well enough, comfy seats, spacious but IMO the ride was very hard and I felt every single bump. Seat set their cars up this way as they see or used to see themselves as the sporty arm of VAG.

What do people reckon about eleccy cars? I'm not impressed so far - interesting technology aside, exactly how are we going to provide the extra electricity for everyone to have an electric car (nuclear is in a state of flux and renewables...oh purlease!)... Read more
You'd be forgiven for thinking that the earthquake and tsunami didn't happen in japan and that it was purely a nuke problem...!
Have a google of 'thorium reactors'. An interesting prospect.

Just seen the latest pics. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/bmw-/new-bmw-1-series-revealed/257506/pictures/new-bmw-1-series-revealed.aspx Seems BMW's stylists have been influenced by the by Lexus. I doubt most BMW drivers will notice. Apparently most think their 1 series is fwd! Read more
Park it between a Citroen DS3 and a Nissan Juke and it wouldn't look too bad!!!
I wonder if the inspiration for the new 1-series was one of the original type that had been driven at low speed into a wall!

Hi folks,
I went to start my car the other morning and to my dissapointment it gave back nothing but the sound of a struggling starter. I bump started the car and all was well. The strange thing is it remained well for the rest of the day and the following morning. Then the day after that hopped in again... nothing. So I then bumped it again, same thing happened started fine then carried on running for the rest of the day no problem.... Read more
If it's that knackered the plates will have sulphated and topping it up won't help. Might get you through the summer, but you'll be in the merde come the first cold snap later.
If Halfords want 100 quid for a battery, take that as a hint to go somewhere else. Try your local friendly auto spares shop, you'll almost certainly get a better deal.

We had an 05 light blue metallic Titanium and noticed the same problem.
