I've found two MGBs. Opinions please! One is a driver and one is a fixer-upper. The black one looks a pig's-ear TBH.

Hi all
Hopefully someone can help! We have developed an odd whine coming from the front of our 2002 Clio. Its not a 'humming' sound like it would be if its a wheel bearing (had this problem before). its not a screech, but an odd whining sound that comes intermittantly.... Read more
Your better off having a full brake check it may be rusty discs causing it to catch.

'Gross' hp. Tee hee! It can mean whatever you want it to!
The olds 455 is not the same as the Pontiac 455-0r the Buick 455. Whilst they all had different components, bores, strokes etc the actual difference in the torque of any of the 455s will be negligilble.
Hubby got his mum's car for a couple of days to do a service, and when he took cover off air filter, found a lot of engine oil in the housing and around the edge of the filter itself. He's dried it out and going to take it for a run to see if it happens again, as don't want to ruin a new filter, but any idea what might be causing it. Oil fill level is slightly over max, but never come across oil in the filter in a car before. Any advice appreciated, thanks! Read more
Also it's possible that the continuous short journeys with a cold engine have taken their toll and the piston rings are carboned. This will lead to crankcase compression and consequently oil in the air filter. You could try using a oil flush immediately prior to changing the engine oil and filter, and see if that helps. If it doesn't you have two choices. Either an engine overhaul or live with it.
Short journeys are very bad for your engine's health....
Hi All, anyone got any suggestions please. A couple of my girls will be renting a flat in Cardiff shortly. There is no TV or sky cabling and they would have to pay for any installation work. There appears to be BT line to the property but I have no idea whether it is or could be connected. The girls use mobiles and the internet for their comms so they will need TV and Internet. Money is going to be a bit tight so we can't just throw money at this. Has anyone got any suggestions on the best package to go for please? Ta FTF (PS: Appol's for the strange formating but I can't do any carriage returns!) Read more
Thanks for the reply. Never was a mod and carriage returns still not working! Yes a sky package is looking fav at the moment. Thks. FTF
I have been impressed with the new schemes for young driver such as I-cube, Insurethe Box and Co-OP Insurance etc - but dissappointed that none seem to operate in Northern Ireland. Anyone know of NI solution? Read more
Injury compensation is reduced if you aren't wearing a seatbelt, so maybe you shouldn't get whiplash compensation if you don't have a correctly-adjusted head restraint - if fitted of course.
Help! I have a 97 Audi A4 1.9tdi with a lack of turbo boost above 2000rpm, the ecu is showing no fault codes and the only other symptom is on start up the engine revs to 2000 rpm before returning to idle at 900. I have repaced the air mass sensor but to no avail next port of call was the N75 sensor but not sure if i'm going in the right direction? Read more
The over rev on start up may indicate a possible fault with the temp sender - this does not always get logged as a readable fault .
Hi Forum, after having a rethink, im in the market finally for a 3.5-4.5k estate auto, i need a decent amount of room and im throughly confused. we will do a mix of driving in it doing about 10k max a year, i presume this rules out a diesel.
brand is not an issue but reliability and mpg is. i was thinking a golf or passat previously in diesel format.. so something with a few comforts. Read more
Had you thought of an old Audi A6 Avant? Six cylinder petrol, especially with the lovely Tiptronic 5HP19 box, are rare and cheap. They are beautifully made, galvanised, and tend to be reliable.

One of the reasons given for moving back to I taly into a brand newly equiped factory is that they want to improve standards the old factory production was not upto the standard that Fiat now require.

We had an X-reg Datsun Cherry (is that 1981/2?) when I was a kid; parents got rid of it in about 1990/91. It used to stall for no apparent reason. My dad was awesome with cars but he couldn't fix it! I guess it was an upgrade from an Austin 1100 though!
