I have a pal looking to buy a Ford Fiesta. The local dealer has an Edge and a Zetec for the same money, miles service history etc. but the Edge is 2012 whilst the Zetec is 2009. Your comments as to what would be the better buy would be very welcome please. Read more
Think it's got to be the 2012 as it should have some of its manufacturers warranty left just in case something goes wrong.
Some of the zetec extras over the edge are cosmetic such as alloy wheels and bits of chrome.

Just an update. Took my car to the garage.
They noticed my exhaust was broken, split in the middle apparantly...that's been welded together, and a sticking thermostat was cited as the most likely reason....
Having replaced an complete 2.2 engine, new turbo find the engine will not accelerate under load, it runs around ok in auto. But if you floor it the engine dies.
No error codes, fuel pressure ok... Read more
How did you check fuel pressure. injector leak back test would not go amiss contaminated diesel restriction in fuel lines
Why does the air filter flow pipe keep blowing off and breaking the plastic clip that holds it in place? Read more
Has it a turbo? I presume so, then it could be over-boosting?

They are designed to tick because the valve opens and closes. My suggestion to give it a light tap with a hammer was if it had become stuck and was no longer ticking. This often gets them ticking again.

can anyone tell me where the noise is coming from, its around the aux belts area, on this is the cambelt and water pump too.

I just rented a new i10 Auto while on hols for a week in Lanzarote. Brilliant Car. Rode well even on rough B roads. Easily powered up steep inclines.I never needed the manual sequential shift option. I drove gently but with aircon on most of time I still averaged 46 mpg. Beautifully light but direct steering . I am thinking of getting one of these in UK! Read more
