This evening on the way home from work i came up behind a car following a Luton van on a B standard road.
Presumably trying desperately to overtake the van and not having a clue how to do so, jammed within a cars length of the back of the van at around 45mph kept edging out beyond the crown of the road braking constantly to avoid hitting the van, eventually the van pulled over and parked on the offside in a villlage.... After having my ignition switch replaced - wires soldered - i have been intermittingly having my glow plug light not come on when trying to start my engine
I did replace the plugs as one was shot - (went to start it no light) started with wire from battery to plug for a few seconds - a day or so later light had come back on by itself , ran sweet as for a few months , then once again no light ... Read more
A Diesel engine is a compression ignition engine. For it to start it needs to be mechanically sound so that the intake air is compressed to a ratio of around 20:1 and in so doing the compressed and turbulent air is heated to around 500 degrees Celsius. Fuel oil then must be injected in the form of a high pressure very fine spray at the right time onto the hot compressed air. If your engine doesn't start then essentially it wil be for one of these reasons.
Indirect injection diesels require glow plugs for preheating because air is compressed into a seperate swirl chamber onto which fuel is injected. The compressed air tends not to reach sufficient temperature when the engine is cold.
In the case of direct injection diesels air is compressed and fuel is injected directly on top of the piston and glow plugs are generally not required unless the outside air is very cold.

I don't know the answer, I'm afraid, FP. I'm not an expert on such things.
However, even if the YouTube channel is earning money it's only had 65 visits, to date. I don't think it's going to be a serious earner!...
Hy everyone,
My father owns 2011 Audi Q5 with 2.0tfsi petrol engine and manual transmission. From the first day he had problem with oil consumption and only after 3000km car asked.for additional 1l of oil. In Audi they sad it is normal for thia car to use 1l on 1000km which is strange to me because I had many cars and nun of them used so much oil. ... Read more

Why do so many car journalists publish such utter nonesense - or why are they so gullible?
Parkers and other prestigious motoring journalists state that the latest Citroen C4 Cactus has a turbo charged, 3 cylinder, 1199 cc petrol engine with 82 PS at 5750 rpm and 118 Nm of torque at 2750 rpm. (It is a 'long stroke' engine).... Read more
Used to buy CAR mag.
In c 1970, they published a road test of the (new) Ford Zodiac Mark 3 . Said its handling was junk (true) and the tyres were Goodyear Gripless (also true)...
The front passenger is not opening from out unless it's open from inside. Could you please give a clue how I can fix it back. All other doors are working well with the central locking system and I can open them either or from outside except the front passenger door.
Thanks... Read more
Has the plastic handle cracked or broken?
Take off the door card and it should be an easy fix. The back door of my 307 went a couple of years back.
Took my Jeep in for a safety recall and, as it failed, the Dealer installed a cross-car beam. The dealer had to remove the tow bar to do this and now I have been told that the car cannot currently be fitted with one (Jeep cannot source one to fit once the cross-car beam has been fitted). As I bought the Jeep from new with a tow bar (to tow things) I was naturally a little upset that I now had a vehicle not fit for purpose. The Dealer was no help and Jeep customer services attitude was essentially 'tough'. Do I have any legal rights re some sort of compensation from Jeep? Read more
To update: After taking advice from Honest John/Citizens Advice and passing on the problem to Trading Standards and Motor Code re the Car Dealers legal responsibilities and Fiats lack of customer care, I have now finally pressed the Car Dealer to buy back my Cherokee at more than trade in value. It took the threat of legal action mind you, but at least I can now go and get a vehicle that will tow. Naturally I will not be getting a vehicle from the Fiat Group (ever again?).

You must be feeling happier too, now.
