Yes i've got a couple, one for the car and caravan, price has progressivly gone since buying the first for £2.04.

I think they must be selling well, mine reads 0.1 volt low.

Intending to take a Qashqai to France on holiday. This model (NTec+) has only the reinflating stuff supplied (No spare or spacesaver). Have been looking at getting either a spare or spacesaver, but put off by prices etc. especially as it is a lease car.

So now my question:... Read more

Coo, just looked up Freelander 1 on that site and believe it or not the PCD is the same (offset close) as the Cashcow, the centre bore of the FL wheels are however smaller...who'da thought that, given some spigot adaptors you could probably fit the Nissan wheels to a FL 1.

PS, probably find the LR jack and wheelbrace would do for the trip if you can find a wheel to suit.

Hi, I own a 2005 MK5 Golf 1.9TDI (105) on Saturday it was parked on the path and my dad started it to bring it into the driveway, anyway we were having a look at the heating as it would only work on number 4 (already bought and put in two heater resistors and still wouldn't work) we were advised by a mechanic to have a look at the fan as it may have become clogged. After having a look to no avail we tried to start the car and now it wont run. The car initially starts but immediately cuts out, any suggestions as to what it could be? I've had a look at online forums but can't get anything specific to focus on, also I may add that the dash is completely out, the lights won't come on at all, the headlights, interior lights, radio etc still work though. Already checked fuses and they are all working fine, I'm baffled, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks! Read more

Anyone know a good site to obtain free answers to Wills and Probate Q`s please?

I entered a Caveat after dodgy-looking dealings following a relative`s death and now a month later the solicitor has written to ask me to remove said Caveat ,saying they will apply to have Caveat removed if I don`t do so this month, and that I may incur costs. This is the first direct contact I have had with solicitor.... Yeah, we know it's an old thread too, and old threads mostly get resurrected by people who want to plant spam.

I need to change the clutch soon. I was wondering what make of clutches do people recommend, genuine from Toyota? £200 or a LuK for £100, chances are genuine one is probably made by LuK.

or is there other brands to consider.

and is changing the dmf a must when doing the clutch kit, surely if the dmf has no play or not damaged I should be able to use it again. ... Read more

If the car is 04 on, it'll have an Luk clutch in it anyway, before that is was a Aisin unit which is getting pricey as the want you to change the DMF to an SMF kit.

I've seen a lot of DMF's fail a few month after fitting a new clutch, good news for me as I sell the things, but bad news for the punter.

The other day after a heavy downpour during the night, I found both front windows open and the car thoroughly wet inside. I contacted Skoda and was told to wait and observe if it happpened again.

It did about three times in the morning, but the third time, there were some clicking sounds (about ten times) from the locking system before the windows opened. ... Read more

Oliver, you may have changed the module but if the source of the leak is not found and fixed you will have repeated problems, maybe get your head and a torch by the module and get somebody to hose the car down to see if you can find the leak

My next car, possibly a Jazz, will most likely not come with a spare wheel as standard. I intend buying a set of winter tyres on steel wheels. Would it be considered acceptable to use one of the winter wheels as a spare during the summer, and a summer wheel as spare during the winter?

It would only be used in emergencies, and at a sensible slow speed. After all, this shouldn't be any more dangerous or illegal than driving with a space saver wheel on. Read more

My 2002 diesel automatic Galaxy has been slipping out of gear, particularly when over about 40mph. If you are very gentle on the accelerater you can keep it in gear and generally drive quite normally.

Just come back from the garage where I have been told it needs the gearbox rebuilt, he said it would cost around £2000 and advised me against doing it. Looking on the internet there are garages that offer exchanges for £475 all in, are these worth considering?... Read more

One assumes that this vehicle has a means of checking the gearbox oil level?

First thing to have done is check the level and top up (preferably refresh) if necessary....
