The clutch and flywheel etc was replaced about 1 and half years ago,the car has done about 8000 miles and the clutch has started to slip I think?,about a month ago I started to lose power and I kept getting error with the display screen flashing with a loss of power but if I stopped and turned the key off and back again it's normal but now it's loss of power with high revs,no flashing on screen with loss of power, could it really be the clutch going at such low miles of 7000?.Thanks Read more

I am lookng for some advice. I have received two charge notices from parking eye in the last month. I use a carpark opposite the gym twice a week at least and I have always been vigilent of restrictions.
I am at a loss here as to why I have received them - there is a clear sign in the car park that states max 1hr stay mon-sat 8am-6pm no return within 1 hr' which to me reads that after 6pm there are no restrictions. My charges are for over staying the 1hr after entering the car park at 19.47 and 18.59 ... I have returned to the car park and noticed two further parking eye signs that say 1 hr max stay contridicting the signs on the wall. I have drafted two 'appeals' along with photographs, is this the right thing to do? I've read threads to do with parking eye that say ignore them? Read more
Aye your right, no data protection act there eh?
Data Protection DOES apply but giving user detail where there is cause is a legitimate use. ...
Is it only me or are there others who have noted things like this. I travel on a dual carriageway it’s not that long about 1 mile the speed limit is 40mph .About half way along there are traffic lights .There are on regular occasions vehicles that set off down the road like at F1 starting grid (I assume that vehicle fuel is verry cheep to some) get I guess to about 60mph only to anchor on at the midway lights they are usually on red (as they are linked lights) and then off again .If someone is doing any reasonable speed or not going fast enough in the right hand lane then it seems it’s OK not just to break the speed limit but to cut up anyone in left lane so as to undertake because they are in such a rush. What I cannot work out is why it’s BMW 90% of the time. Are they exempt from the Highway Code? Or is just the games console attitude you get with some BMWs and is it compulsory?... Read more
I absolutely agree about lower standards of driving at weekends - mainly because fewer of them seem to know where they're going.
Higher residuals make the three German premium marques good value for business leasing. It's human nature for most people to have aspirations, and you can't blame them for going for a prestige marque when it's on offer - even though a Ford is in most ways as good to drive....
Its OK ORB, i get the blame for everything else, wouldn't suprise me if they somehow put me in the frame for this too.:-))
Anyone done of these? Got my car serviced, MOT arranged by the garage but done elsewhere. Failed on tyre wear, the garage said it was fine, but the MOT tester disagreed.
Garage said 'Somewhere else will probably pass it'.... Read more

I have just bought a 1999 Subaru Legacy estate with 140,000 miles on the clock, all with one owner. It seems in pretty good condition but recently it has started making a knocking sound which is particularly noticeable when starting up from cold but still there when warmed up. Do I have a big problem or is it a common thing which won't develop into a big and expensive problem? Read more
If its little or big ends that are making a noise I suggest you do not use the car especially big end,If you are not able to strip and rebuild the engine you are looking at alot of expense probably why the previous owner sold it.It could of course be something reasonable cheap to repair you need to locate were the noise is coming from, a rubber tube used as a stethoscope is useful these are flat boxer engines so it should be easy to find were the noise originates.
I am a freelance television journalist looking to get in touch with people who have been affected by logbook loans. Have you taken out a logbook loan and felt misled by the company? Did you buy a car without realizing there was loan secured against it? Have you had your car seized as a result of a logbook loab? Are you a current or ex-employee of a logbook loan firm who feels the company acts unfairly? I am gathering background information for a film; any information provided will be kept in the strictest confidence. (surely most people who need loans dont own the car outright so loans cant be taken )
Loan companies will only lend against a car that has clear title ,ie no other finance company has registered an interest against it .
The register is the HPI register ,all loan companies will only provide a loan when the register is clear .
I would think think that car owners would only use LBLC if their circumstances had changed ,ie loss of job ,sudden large bill etc .
The cost of LBL are similar to pay day loans ,very expensive , in addition the ones I've looked at charged an initial setting up fee ,typically £150 .plus a release fee at the end of the agreement .
It's a loan type that's best avoided if you can access conventional finance .

Put the parking brake on fully set of in second gear it should stall if the clutch is ok.
