Well done to HER!

It's not every woman who can reverse park.

Any - How not to park - gordonbennet

Never yet driven a car yet that the brakes couldn't overcome the engine.

In days of yor it might well have happened that a RWD auto could exceed a set of poorly mainatined rear drum brakes, but even if it caused wheelspin the front brakes would prevent the car from moving any more than at a noisy screeching crawl, or slow spin pivoting on the front wheels.

Wonder what damage some of these licence holders would do if they drove something with some grunt, perish the thought.

I've a theory about many of these reversing accidents in an auto.

If for any reason the accelerator is pressed in reverse, then the body is thrown towards the front of the car, including the foot on the accelerator!

I "like" this one the best, but thankfully nobody hurt in both.

I wonder (as you do with suddenly too much spare time) were both cars diesel, both decided engine was going to over rev... Unintended consequence of dpf dumping fuel in sump?

I assume, nay sincerely hope, that the car was not being loaded onto a transporter by anyone not trained to do so..

AFAIK the diesel in sump oil issue is Mazda specific and not something PSA engines are susceptible to.

Accelerator mistaken for brake would my guess. Were both cars autos by any chance.

I have now, thanks..;)

Being collected from a (car?) recycling company, so presumably a write off..well it is now..or a car being sold as salvage, so could be all sorts of faults with it.

I've got an alternative theory about these reversing, and many other, accidents, some people shouldn't be allowed out unaccompanied.

I'm assuming it's more likely to shoot of backwards in an auto as you don't risk stalling the car?

Ask gb, the (ex) car transporter driver.
