Have you considered Disability Living Allowance( could be useful for Motobility) and or Attendance Allowance- worth filling the forms in.
I've had major disability problems with my father and have helped my parents through Attendance Allowance forms etc. For a while my father received this which helped with his care at home but recently as he has got worse (he has a bad degenerative disease) he is now in a residntial/nursing home. He no longer receives the allowance and the council takes most of his income....
Hi all advice helpful the fault is everytime you indicate left or right all four indicators come on I know the flasher unit located with in the hazard light switch is ok as this has be replaced Read more
It is likely you have water ingress into the central convenience system under the passengers floor sound deadening due to blocked plenum chamber drains.
Hello, I asked you a question to honest john back in May about my wife's Clio dynamique which we bought new in march this year having Px an i-music from renault cardiff. The sunroof was leaking and it took them 3 weeks with the car in the garage to sort it out by taking the whole sun roof out and re-doing the tubes that drain the water since they eventually found a crack present. There was also a loose nut inside the driver door panel which rattled going over small bumps and was removed, there were also some other 'issues'.... Anyway since new the steering column and wheel seemed to us to vibrate excessively when going over rumble strips before 30mph zones. You literally have to grab onto the steering wheel firmly and your hands and forearms vibrate when going over the strips. We mentioned this a few times and were put off with excuses...... Renault cardiff then had it in twice and told us what it was not ie brakes, suspension, discs, tracking were fine etc. They then said it was due to excessive pressure in the tyres...!!....A week later I checked the tyre pressure and found them all to be 5-6 Lbs under the manufacturer's recommended rating........so my wife had been driving on underinflated tyres as well....!!....This is a bit similar to a person being admitted to hospital with chest pain and having their heart checked out and told it is normal and then being told to go away but still with their chest pains ie the diagnosis of their problem not having been reached and the poor Patient still having the worry of their pains..... So we were not happy and renault UK got us to take it to renault Bridgend for a second opinion. On test drive the guys agreed immediately that things were 'not right'. They quickly found that the cause of the steering wheel and column vibration to be coming from a steering bracket welding issue. They have advised me this issue will be resolved under the manufacturer’s warranty. I have been told this is an 11 hour job. My wife has been given an enterprise car for a week to 10 days while all this is happening. We believe that if this all gets sorted that the car was never 'fit for purpose'.....what about the underseal rust proofing and re-sale value since we feel like going to another manufacturer.........where do we stand legally?........do you think we should refuse to pick it up even or are there grounds to ask for a new car?..... The wife is expecting our first child and having decided that we wanted an isofix car base for our car seat we set off for a large nationwide store that specialises in these.
We were slightly shocked to find out that they would not sell us a base because the base manufacturer had not crashed tested our car with the base in place.
Both of our cars have been tested by euro ncap with isofix bases and received satisfactory results.
To me this seems like madness and I'm inclined to get a base by ordering via the Internet, and potentially taking advantage of better prices.
Am I missing something or is this purely h and s madness? Read more
Just off to do some more research on this subject but it strikes me as one of the maddest business plans I've heard. We won't sell you a car seat until we ve tested your car, and we need to sell seats to cover these costs...... Im no business guru but there s a flaw here!
Hi! I would appreciate some assistance regarding a fairly harsh "knocking" coming from the front of my 206. I recently fitted new shockers to both driver & passenger side front as I had suspected this was the cause of the previous knocking particularly on one side of the car. The noise is more pronounced now. I drive a lot in France and their village & narrow country roads are very poorly maintained - someone said it's their version of "sleeping policemen" and speed control Could well be right !!
The knock is a series solid knocks. Could it be the top of the coil spring is not sitting in the location plate bolted to the top of the wheel arch or would the "Drop links" cause a knock this hard!... Read more
Check front ball joints a very common problem on this car and drop links as previously stated.
Here's a question which Dwight Van Driver posted in the Bikers' Caff section. I'm not sure how many people on here are bikers (or wish they were), but do use that section if you are.
Perhaps more will see the question, and perhaps give him an answer, if I post it here too:... Read more
Sorry, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a 2001 (must have read the 2007 as 2001!) In which case it's worth about £3600-4K private. You'd get £2800-3000 off a dealer for it.
When I access the HJ forum via the Google Chrome browser the red 'NEW' indicators are shown in new postings but not when I access via Firefox. Is this likely to be an issue with Firefox or is there something that I can do to rectify the (minor but annoying) fault?

I know there have been issues over recalls, which have mostly affected American models, and this has put some people off, but are Toyotas still worth buying as magazines like Which still rate their reliability and resale value and a 5 year warranty is a big plus point. I'm not in the market to change my car for two years, but models like the new Yaris look the part and are supposed to be very good on petrol. Read more
At times like that I really wish I had a car with great handling, rubber band tyres, harsh suspension, a clutch that builds leg muscles and a list of faults.

Chris is actually right, another couple of months having no car won't hurt you at all.;) Anyway, since you just passed your test an article I read recently may help you get started. According to the article, red-light cameras take a picture of a driver and his or her license plate when they drive through a red light. Motorists generally hate them. Many feel the gadgets are designed to make money for a city, and not to catch bad-guys. However, two devices have just appeared that use similar technology to make red-light camera photos useless to police force. One of the gadgets can be bought now. The other is still raising money to get UL certification. To read the full article, you may go here: New car to buy.

They always blame this on the plastic link from the gear stick to the gear box.
I wonder if it's really down to a clutch on its way out or needing a bleed
