I'm thinking of getting winter tyres this year. HJ suggests they go on steel wheels. I've been looking at websites and some ask for "central hole" and "spacing". I've looked in the handbook and all it says about wheels is "wheel size - 5.5Jx15".
Can anyone help or recommend where to buy?... Read more

Specialist, some may be idiots but I often find them amusing and occasionally interesting.
The one constant factor is that I've never been driven by a minicab driver who I would let even PARK my own car.

Hi There,
Looking for some technical assistance. I have a 1991 mazda MX5 that some shyster has attempted to steal so now i need a new ignition system and a door glass, The car is a 1991 model and a breaker has confirmed they have a driver side door glass and lock set available but it is from a 1998 model, can anyone tell me if these will fit straight off or will i have any problems with the ignition system / plugs and the door glass?... It will need checking out but normally its the main ABS unit under the bonnet that is faulty and requires replacing common fault on BMWs.
Hi, could use some advise here please.
Two weeks ago lost all power from turbo, no boost and got antipolution warning and eml on dashboard,i tired disconnecting the air flow sensor and still no change, took it to the local peugeot garage who told me it needed a new egr valve and battery.. ok fair enough.
Got the car back shortly after and after driving it off the forecourt £700 lighter on the wallet it started to surge on light load (quite violently in 1st and 2nd when cold) but put foot down and whoosh away you go.I could also hear a faint strange noise eveytime it surged.
Now if i disconnect the air flow sensor no surging at all.
Took it back to peugeot for them to check for split/disconnected hose and they tell me it now needs a new repeat sensor for the turbo at 9 hours labour + new turbo (no happy now).
The surging only started after i got the egr valve replaced..so whats the deal on this ?are they having me on for a new turbo or what ?
Can a failing egr mask turbo repeat error or have these 2 faults suddenly developed at the same time ?
Its an 04 plate 2.0 hdi 136 with 107k on the clock.
Many thanks Read more
i have reciepts for work done on my car 3 weeks prior to it being written off ,i have been informed this should be passsed to the insureres as reasonable wear and tear would not be applicable to claim the cost of work back Read more
You'll not get the money back as such, but a service bill is supporting evidence the car was properly maintained and such should be reflected in the valuation.
I've never been in this situation, but I understand the insurance quite often makes a low offer initially, presumably since if accepted their profitability increases, so expect a bit of haggling here.

>>>If you DO get an additional opair of wheels and tyres I would suggest you store them in a dark and dry place.
Agreed and for less than a tenner this wheel rack (i have one, it works) saves you turning the wheels every month or so to prevent the tyres flattening ...
