Does anyone know of a list of new cars that can be bought with either a full size spare wheel or the ability to purchase one as an extra but to still fit into the proper storage space. Read more

I was reading the spare wheel generally is becoming somewhat outdated. It's now so rare to get a fast puncture that some manufacturers aren't even supplying spare wheels. Obviously if you've got run flats the clue is in the title as to why you wouldn't need it right away.

After a recent service we were told that our '99 xkr was showing signs of rust around the underside floor area on both sides.
The mechanic also said there were two triangular plates that look like they were welded in at manufacture and he thought these would need to be replaced but he knew nothing about it.
We have tried to find out more but with little sucess.

Anyone with any experience of this? Possible solutions? Can the plates br bought?... Read more

When you say the exhaust is broken, could it be blocked or very restricted. If the engine can't get rid of its exhaust gas efficiently it will be way down on power.

If you blip the throttle in neutral is there a good flow of gas out the exhaust.

Just reading through details of the new golf on H J .

The entry level model is a a 1.2 TSI ,is this basically the same 3 cylinder engine that was popular in the polo from approx 2005 up to now .

I've sold a few of those and although they are a popular seller ,I always found them to be a nasty little car to drive ,with a poor reliability record .

I remember one where the timing chain slipped a notch and threw the timing out .Very expensive to repair. Read more

You can't keep designs simple while the powers that be consider CO2 (the stuff that makes plants grow) to be a pollutant. We are all paying through the nose for the biggest tax and spend scam in history.

Sounds very much like an ignition related fault.Could be one of the coils or possibly one of the ht leads.(there are 2 of each). Also check the wiring and the 2 pin connectors that runs to the coils,it is possible that the insulation has fractured.hth

the wires running to the pack have started to corrode and the outer sleeving is disintegrating do these wires pulse or is there continuous voltage in them?...

Hello I'm new hear... I've had a good read about and read up on injector seals... I didn't want to try and fix them myself but now I wish I did... so I dropped my car to my local garage to have the injector seals done...before it went in it drove perfect nice and nippie only a ticking noise and the smell of fual ..so they had it for the day from 8.30 and called at 6pm to say it was all done but as soon as I took it for a drive I could tell something was wrong it had no power like the turbo wasn't working ...so I took it back to the garage first thing in the morning and told them that it's feels flat and there's no power so they said oh it's ok maybe the vacuum pipe was left off ...so I left it with them went back they told me again yer it's all done it runs lovely ...but no when I dove it still no power ..so I took it strate back again they said leave it and they will have a look at it again they then said they can't find what's wrong it maybe the air flow meater so they changed that still no luck ...then they said it could be the ECG so they plated that off to try that ...but guss what still no joy so they tried diagnostics mec to find a problem but come back with no faults ...then they got another mechanic who only deals with deasel cars he looked at what they had done and said he can't see any problems with there work ..so he got he's diagnostic mec and he didn't come up with any faults..and then he said he would come back monday with a better diagnostics that can look deeper... and then they said it could be the ecu and that could be expensive to fix ..so they had the car for 4 days I got it back for this weekend as I had to go somewhere so I took it on the motorway wow it was painful not to say dangerous it just about got to 70 mph I could not overtake as there's no power I have to take it back in the morning ...monday ...for them to take a look again so I was wondering if anyone on hear has some advice for me... Could it be that they have damaged the injectors thats why it driving like this please can anyone help thank you very much..... crazydan Read more

Hopefully an easy question. Does anyone know if when refilling your regeneration fluid you need to go to rest the ECU? A garage told me YES, a regen fluid online shop told me NO!?!

Can the car reset itself or by disconnecting the battey for so long....... Read more

You need to tell the ECU that the tank is full and the filler cap (on certain models has been replaced)for this you need program "Planet" available at your friendly Peugeot dealer and independands who have invested in the program. Please note Citroen and Peugeot programs are different one uses Planet and the other Lexia.
