Having purchased a new car from my local dealership at near full price I have since found out that the car I bought was on show at one of the dealerships other location at a much reduced price. Could you please advise me if I have any rights to the lower price? I have contacted the dealer principle who has failed to respond :(

This should be fun. What car do you intend to buy next or what would you want to buy next? I personally am looking at Jaguar S-Type's right now on the used markets, i overlooked it when i changed my car a short while back mainly because i thought i'd never get insurance on such a car, however with quotes coming out at around £500 a year for me its now viable, and i had models of the old XJ when i was a kid and always dreamed of having a big Jag. It'd have to be the 3.0litre one, petrol.

Anyone else here got a future purchase in mind? Read more

the Nissan reliability will help.

It might if it were a Nissan-It's a badge engineered Suzuki. Not that Suzuki are unreliable, but you have to question nissan's competence if they resort to selling other people's stuff. Usually the first sign of a company in terminal decline.

The other day while queing at the Dartford Crossing to literally throw money at them, I wondered a few things. Is the toll money worth it, for several reasons? Firstly does it cost more in fuel and wasted time to stop traffic to collect it? Secondly, does the money collected cover the actual cost of running the crossing? My feeling is that this government could give us all a real feel good factor if they simply abolished these tolls. It surely wouldn't cost that much and the crossing must be paid for several times over by now. The money collected from motorists surely must be enough to allow for maintaining the crossing for the benefit of all. At least all that endless wretched queing would be reduced considerably. It turns out that the front n/s alloy rim has a crack about 5mm long – possibly as a consequence of hitting a pothole in the winter – not sure why it took so long to show up.

Bought a new Mazda a couple of years ago and was not aware that each model has its own paint range, i.e you can't get the same shade of blue for example on both a Mazda 2 and a 3. To the casual observer, they would look the same, however, apparently the shades are carefully chosen to suit the particular model. Not sure whether this is normal for manufacturers.

Still being in the market for a car have heard of a Seat Leon 2003 03 plate 1.4 16v with.....wait for it..... 23k miles on it.

Am I right in thinking this might be best avoided due to lack of use? Apparently it's owner has recently deceased and is being converted to cash for the estate. It is a private sale and has partial SH to 2007, the sellers are putting a new MOT on it and also servicing it prior to sale.... Read more

Well, it was interesting.

6 Owners. 29K on clock. Had previously failed 2 MOT on consumables (breaks/bulbs). Had nice full set of continental eco tyres with lots of tread. Drove very nicely ( though change from 1st to second seemed to be a long physical distance). Found power OK, though I can see why people used to larger engines would find it underwhelming....

How do I move this to the legal thread?! I had actually meant to post in the general section but obviously didn't check properly before I posted it!!

I think best move then is to phone garage and ask them to check whether it is just a regas and if it's any more than that, see if the dealer will assist in any way. Otherwise I will have to just leave it until I can afford to do anything about it - the cancellation of my previous insurance and the extras I've had to fork out which I hadn't expected have left me a bit short!!...
