First thing in the morning if it is cold or wet, it drives okay for the first 5 minutes. After that, it stalls and will not start again for about 15 - 20 minutes. It always restarts but I have to leave it that long. It is fine for the rest of the day.

Looking under the bonnet I can see petrol has leaked around the throttle body. Someone said I need a new throttle body which I am in the process of buying.... Read more

OK if you were doing 50 in a 40 that is only just over the 10% plus 2 margin that is generally allowed. So in a 40 limit , 47mph your in the book. Were you not offered a speed awareness course ?

10% + 1mph is the allowable figure you refer to, 10% + 2mph is where prosecutions start - but it's not universal and it's certainly not a right.

I'm thinking of the type of frame where the bike front wheel is off the ground and firmly fixed into a frame which is bolted to the towing hitch plate. The bike rear wheel follows the car.

Is it legal to move a motorbike this way? Read more

Why not just buy a small bike trailer. No issues at all then.

I'm in the market for an estate car. Got around £1,800 to spend. I do like the look of the Rover 75s and there seem to be a fair few around at this sort of price. However I am rather scared by the reputation for head gasket failure.... I'm presuming this would not be an issue for the diesels, though, which i understand have a BMW engine. Could someone confirm this is indeed the case?

Also I'm wondering if Rover parts are available at reasonable prices or if repair costs are likely to work out overly high... Really would appreciate the opinion of someone in the know....... Read more

If you would be happy with a 406 I would go for one of those. I have avoided common rail engines for years because of their percieved unreliability but I finally succumbed to a 406 Hdi estate. what really swung it for me is the number that you see advertised with over 300,000 miles on them, if they will last that long they are the car for me.

The one I bought had covered 189k when I bought it and has now done 195k with no engine problems, it will return over 60 mpg driven carefully and has avereged 54.4 over the last 5k. Mine is a GLX which has Satnav, electric seats, auxilluary heater and aircon to name but a few and I paid £950 for it on ebay, it drives almost like new....

hi am new to the site and any help would be appreciated, i owchecn a grand voyager 1997, just recentlywhen i start the car the oil light comes on after a couple of mins and the engine cuts out.if i leave it for several mins it will restart but the same problem occurs.my friend came down the other day and did an engine flush, oil & filter change, but still aint solved the problem. i had a diagnostics done but all that was found was the crank position sensor needed replacing so i did that. i'm now getting a mobile mechanic in to do an oil pressure test and check the oil sender switch as i got a feeling its the oil pump... could anyone else whos faced the same problem shed some light on this and offer some advice it would be appreciated Read more
