Hi,

I am looking to buy a car that will be used 5 days a week, 2 x 60 mile trips a day. Pretty much straight run: motorway and major A roads (very few/infrequent stoppages).... Read more

Hyundai Elantra diesel looks a very good bet, - good ones can be had for around £1400. Or a petrol avensis 1.8 - this will do 40mpg on your commute. Don't spend £4k - either buy a three/four year old car for more, or go for a 70K 7-year- old for £1400

If you had a Rocket Launcher to vapourise cars that cut you off – that would make it more fun than the real thing.

Do you phone around scrapyards, sell it off for parts or use one of the sites like www.cartakeback.com - I looked at it and they collect the car, sort out the paperwork etc.

Was wondering what other people do?... Read more

Hi, can anyone help.

I have a crv 2.2cdti that has a lack of power in low gears. Once on the motorway or cruising the turbo picks up ok. I have replaced the turbo and still have no improvement. Before I spend anymore money can anyone shed any light on this. Honda dealers keep telling me its the turbo still but it cant be as i have had it checked and it works fine. Desperate Desperate!! We've had 3 Saabs over a 15 year period. Seems as though the fat lady is very close to singing. http://www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/AllCars/257846/ Read more

I had one.

All the above, let down by that god-awful Triumph engine with its Byzantine cooling system with the water pump stuck into the engine and driven off an idler shaft. Great car, but the words "SAAB water pump" still cause me to have an attack of the vapours....

My car was rear-ended and was taken for repair. After the accident and before it was taken for repair the central door locking system was behaving perfectly.

3 weeks later the car was returned to me. The repairer's driver refused to wait until I had checked the condition of the car. Instead he told me he didn't have time to wait and he would sign the acceptance form himself. I found this behaviour very suspicious.... Read more

Management had a cup with a gilt rim spinning in the said appliance thismorning. Apart from a very impressive electrical storm within, does this cause any damage to the microwave or the cup?

Advised to remove cup which she did accompanied by a long sigh. Read more

Sainsburys near my house is down to 128.9p/litre for 95 octane. This merely persuades me to put the super-unleaded in because it's down to less than regular petrol was 2 weeks ago.

There's no silly conditions on the Sainsbury's offer, unlike Tescos!
