Dutchie has inspired me to do a 'what are you reading?' thread.
At the mo, I am reading one of Wilbur Smith's egyptian books, a biography of Stalin and a book about driving psychology. Read more
Just for fun I'm wondering what forum users drive, their age bracket, male/female? Do you buy your cars new or pre-owned? Last but not least, what's your dream car?
Prius just traded in for new Honda Jazz. Our cars stay for about 10 years. Like to get our $$?££ worth. Cars usually purchased new or nearly new.... Read more
Used to read the DT and HJ when in the UK so will try and ask for a lil help from you folks. We have been out of the UK for 15 years in Floriduh and are coming back this Xmas. We will have the use of our parents ex Honda civic 1.4 basic which is ............very basic, which we will probably sell. We want to "treat" ourselves to summit nice. Have between 10 and 15k to spend. Most of our miles, 5k a yr, will be A & B roads in sunny Cornwall with the very occasional moptorway blast. We intend to buy a small sports conv for fun in the sun, maybe a MGB/Vitesse, (def NOT a mazda). Are undecided and a tad confused with the diesel/petrol issue. Looking at medium sized cars. Had a golf td yrs ago, a celica yrs ago and various crap escort company cars.
Appreciatte all and any answers. ps we aint old! (50). Read more

Hi
Does anyone know if a 09 2.0 Bolero Radio RDS will fit (and work!) in an 07 Skoda Octavia VRS? If not, can anyone recommend any alternatives?
Thanks

my audi 80 avant 2lt petrol won't start, it has spark at the coil but not at the plugs. I think it may be the hall sensor. Read more
the voltage is increased by the pulsations from the hall sensor, so surely if that is not 100% spark to the plug leads would be nil. As the coil gives a spark I still feel the sensor is at fault
Howdy. I have been to the Hoghton Tower classic car show today. Hoghton Tower is near Preston in Lancs and it is where King Charles knighted a decent bit of loin steak to get 'sirloin'.

Couldnt agree more, they are, and you'll never change that. So the only way to sort this is from the top down.
Cleaning my car this morning, it occurred to me that manufacturers must spend a fortune designing fabrics especially suited to trap particles of dirt and be Hoover resistant.
Why does the boot floor for instance always have a "looped" fabric rather than a short "pile"

Anyone on here live in or go to Brighton to shop regularly?
If so, where do you park. I found out too late that the marina area is free, but I went to the centre of Brighton yesterday and parked up, what I thought was conveniently, in the shopping area. The "P" signs guided me to an NCP car park that was charging £5 an hour, £10 for 2-4 hours and £20 4-24 hours. An extortionate rate IMO.... Read more

But what was the rest of the torque curve like?!
The crossflows (like any 2 valve) can be opened up for top end flow at the expense of air velocity which hurts mid load/low RPM performance. Doubt there's many big gains to be found in a four valve, they flow pretty well as it is....
