just got a new spare key off ebay, had it cut and tried programing it according to the manual,i have two original keys, the doors open fine but the car won't start. tried programing it several times still won't start. if i hold the transponder of my origianl key next to the new one it starts. i have emailed the seller to see what he says but is there anything i might be doing wrong, i don't think there is. short of swapping the transponder i'm stuck. I recently got a new / used ford fiesta 1.3 unleaded petrol car, the clutch pedal occasioanlly gets stuck down and i have to lift it with my foot to change gear, it normally just does this when getting in to first ie at traffic lights, traffic, so i normally get the hand brake up ... anyway, seems to make a few strange noises i can mell burning and the WHITE SMOKE wont stop coming out of the exhaust ... anyone??? i know the AA guy said the hydrolics need a seeing too, and the clutch will be sorted (i think) but suddenly the smoke has started and wont stop ...... really smelly and really embarraaing... i hope i can get this fixed very cheaply if atall..?? please help cheers Read more

My petrol Superb 2 and diesel Eos both have fully wired clutch position senors. The Eos will not let you energize it's starter until the clutch pedal is fully depressed. With the Superb you do not have to depess the clutch pedal to start the engine, therefore does anybody know what is the purpose of the clutch position sensor in the Skoda? Read more
That's not its only purpose nor its main one. It's used to tell the ECU when the clutch pedal is depressed so it can make alterations to the ignition/injection timing, which allows for smoother gear changes.

What happened when you sprayed carb cleaner into the inlet? You could use carb cleaner/propane to leak chase the vacuum hoses.
Is the EGR valve functioning properly?...
