I am out in the middle east for a couple of weeks, and seeing lots of the older european cars here, many with the german numberplate surrounds still on, and what a variety, seen one korean rover 800 copy(daewoo?), lots of nissan sunnys, toyota corollas, still sold new here, seen a roewe 750 up close, like the lines at the back, but not sure of that square grille on the front. one chinese Roller lookalike. Also seen lots of the saloon variants of the ceed and i30, which look much better balanced as cars. quite a trip back in time. Diesel cars not allowed for private use.

Big news in the Jordan Times today is the New Car dealers/Agents protesting that the imported used car sales are taking 75% of the market due to 150% import duties and taxes on new cars. Read more

I see in the Daily Telegraph/autotrader website that there is an epica 58 reg vcdi for sale in Luton with 110.000 miles on the clock, would love to know what was needed in terms of non-service items over that time. I am now at a mere 20000 miles in an 09 vcdi, (13,000 of those in 9 months) Read more

I thought it was a Vectra C with a different badge and external lights?

Was a Daewoo concoction updated from an earlier model, really about the last true daewoo.

I have a 2007 Polo. The airconditioning blows nice and cold but the air seems to warm up after 5 mins or so and I then twist the temperature dial and get cool air again. A few minutes later air becomes warmer and the cycle continues witn a simple twist of the dial away from and then back to the previous point it was at providing cold air again.

Sounds to me like the condensor fans are failing or the de-ice stat is over active continually shutting the AC off in a cycle

Browsing the Skoda Yeti microsite, I stumbled across this nugget of engineering know-how when referring to the new Greenline II model...

A turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with direct high-pressure fuel injection and a solid particle filter significantly contributes to the car’s top-quality handling.... Read more

Ah, well obviously a solid particle filter will weigh more than a conventional one with holes through it. That adds to weight low down, lowers the car's centre of gravity and improves handling.

Simples ;-)...

Morning, I posted a thread a couple of days ago regarding my car misfiring. nobody replied so i was goign to just leave it as far as here goes anyway, last night walking back to the car i saw something hanging down under the front drivers side, a pipe almost touching the floor. i assume this has popped off from the engine and has been causing my problems. question is where does it go as i havent a clue? thanks for any help. Have look where the other end of the pipe goes then find the identical car find the pipe and see where that goes.Your description as it stands is to vague is it electrical or vacuum or maybe its the overflow from the aircon in which case it should be there.
