Hello, Just a quick note to see what people think my likely punishment will be.
First offence, clean licence held for 10+ years.. I was caught by police car camera, average speed through a 40mph zone was clocked at 68mph... its too fast I know, one off mistake trying to get home after a long day. Its a really straight bit of road with a few houses set back.. anyway that doesnt matter, broken the law so have to face it.... Read more

I recently purchased an Audi A3 and was miffed finding out how many breather hoses were removed and the car was still running smoothly with power.
Please can someone suply a photo or diagram of the layout of the following hoses. Oil breather hose running from the back of the oil filter up to the camshaft cover. Then from the camshaft cover on to the main air intake hose.... Read more

Temp gauge needle going from normal to hot (red) and back again when travelling about an hour? Plenty of anti-freeze at correct mix and no leaks.Do i need a new thermostat? Read more
I have only heard fan kick in when i have sat in traffic and the temp gauge needle has stayed in the norm zone.
I have a Cayman S which basically has almost zero braking maybe one time in 20. On the other occasions it brakes ok.
When it doesn't work properly the pedal stays firm rather than going to the floor but just doesn't slow the car down properly
The front discs & pads were approaching the end of their life but there was no odd braking noises / other signs of a fundamental problem
I asked the garage to check it out & change the discs & pads.
Their assessment is that there is no obvious fault anywhere in the braking system, having checked everything over (fluid fine, no sign of leaks, master cylinder ok...)... Read more
Sorry to drag this up, but did you get it sorted? I have a similar problem with my Cayman S. Discs and pads were done recently so no problem there. The Vacuum pump has been changed which has improved things, however for me I can still push the pedal to the stop and intermittently get very gradual braking. This often occurs when creeping forward, less than 5mph.
Changing the vacuum pump improved braking through the range and was clearly on the way out, but I still have this intermittent fault.
My Voyager keeps coming out of gear, when i stop, or go from reverse to drive. It only seems to do it first thing in the morning. If i stop at a junction, it tays in Drive but does not go into gear, then i have to wait, and put it in different gears, and it will eventually go in a foward gear...ANY HELP PLEASE!!

Hey Everyone,
I have a Seat Leon (06) which has started smoking excessively and the pickup isn't great. The temperature is staying at around 50 Degrees and Revs when not moving are below 1000 when they should be just above. The pickup is very poor and the engine is vibrating excessively along with the whole car. ... Read more
It certainly could be an injector problem but it could also be a lack of air, I would take it to an independent diesel specialist they usually know what they are doing and likely will be cheaper.
Just had cambelt kit and water pump fitted and was fine for 60 mile trip. On starting up today it backfired and idle speed started to fluctuate and sounds rough until I rev. No loss of power when driving but a bit jumpy after slowing down and accelerating.
Could timing be out by a tooth even though it was fine to start with? Read more
First port of call has to be the garage that change the cam belt. Regards Peter
You think that it has jumped a tooth? Is that possible after it did approx 60 miles without any problem?
Hi,
My 106 Zen Diesel used to be really efficient on fuel especially on long trips. Lately its been drinking fuel and missing when I first start it if its been left a while. Btw I'm a girl so please dont laugh or get too technical!!... Read more
Yes it has been serviced recently and almost seemed a bit worse after! I hit the trip switch each time I fill it up and would ordinarily expect to get 400 miles from each tank of diesel on my normal day to day driving and more on a long trip. If I leave it all day or all night it misses when I start it, but doesnt do it if its only been a few hours. Will try the Halfords stuff and get the glow plugs tested. It has had issues with them in the past. Had sorta ruled it out as it was starting ok.

I bought 10 lts the other day ! seems great deal. very good oil
