Blindside

The Seat dealership is advising me that as my car is 4 years old it needs to have it's belts (cam, auxiliary(??), water pump etc) changed. The price is considerable but my main concern is the possible damage to the engine if I don't get it done. The car has done less than 28k miles so does it need to be done now or can it wait and for how long? Read more

Howdy folks, first time poster here. I recently purchased a 308 1.6HDi SR. I have been led to believe that I can purchase a cruise control stalk which just plugs in and the only necessary step to activate it is to get someone with access to peugeot planet software to tell the car it is present and activate it. Is this true? I have the part number and a price from Peugeot for the stalk, but it's kinda pointless to buy it if I can't activate it! Read more

Can any one help, my car makes a horrible loud squeek from the gears box when you change down a gear, as you let the clutch up!!! Also somtimes when you depress the clutch it does not come back up and i have to put my foot under it to lift the pedal back. It goes into gear fine, and does not seem to slip. any ideas?? Read more

Its at a point where it will cost more to change the clutch than the car is worth.

Hi there, spent all my savings on a new mazda 3ts,. At only 3mths and about 800 mls it started a loud ticking/clattering noise when pulling away on a cold engine. Before the unsuccessful 5th attempt at repairs I complained that I had been very patient and had had enough, and asked for a refund or a new car. I was then told by the garage that a 5th attempt was the best option, and was assured that this time it would be sorted as according to mazda it could be a loose tappet. It was not! Mazda then decided to send a technician who said it was piston slap, and that it was ok to live with and no damage was being done!!! When I said the noise is embassingly loud especially when neighbours are close by, he said he may recommend a short engine in his report. After seeing someone else who had a new Mazda 3 with piston slap and after great difficulty had a new short engine installed only to have the same problem again but even worse. I'm wondering if piston slap is a common problem with Mazda 3's. Has anyone else had this problem? Would be so grateful for any help, Many thanks, Barry

The engine in my wifes Mazda 2007 1.6TS is almost silent when hot or cold. As your car is newer ,Is the engine in yours a different design I wonder ?.

I should also add that I have driven a half a dozen Mazda 3 1.6 petrols with various mileages(loan cars, Hire cars and test drives) and none were noticeably noisy.

Reading the article regarding football it is a one off injection doc I can't see any harm if the manager wants to attract more supporters. If the Polish supporters come back for the next match they have to pay full price.

Regarding the foreign drivers being excempt from prosecution if they break the law, this is a decision by the UK goverment which doesn't make sense.Any tory politicians on this forum?...
