Peugeot 308 - cruise control - boabcelt

Howdy folks, first time poster here. I recently purchased a 308 1.6HDi SR. I have been led to believe that I can purchase a cruise control stalk which just plugs in and the only necessary step to activate it is to get someone with access to peugeot planet software to tell the car it is present and activate it. Is this true? I have the part number and a price from Peugeot for the stalk, but it's kinda pointless to buy it if I can't activate it!
