Hi,
I've just got my Ford Fiesta 1.25 (2002) back from the garage after having a new water pump, timer belt, thermostat and heater valve fitted. The temperature gauge is now back to normal thankfully but even when the fan is switched off in my car there is still hot air coming out of the vents. I know that heater valves are a known problem on this make and model but I've been told it's definitely not the heater valve - a new one has been fitted and the problem is still there. Has anyone else had this problem? I've read on a previous post that it could be the fan dial on my dashboard that's not connected properly. Is this easy to fix? Would be grateful for any help/advice Read more
My rear tinted window had started to show its age after 5 years and was bubbling and coming away.I decided to remove it.It came off quite easily but the whole rear glass was covered in the glue that tinting used.I tried glass window cleaner but it didn't work.I didn't want to use a stanley knife blade as google had said as I didn't want to damage the rear demist elements. In the end I used Car Plan Demon wheels cleaner!.I sprayed it on the glass, left it for 2 minutes and the glue just came away on the cloth with no damage to the elements. It didn't mark the plastic trims either. So what looked like a nightmare job ended up taking about 15 minutes of wiping.Hope this helps other people who have the same problem. What is the tightening torque of the centre retaining nut? Read more
Yeh. Given the story that Dacia are retro maintainable cars like yesteryear, (or at least that was my impression) a unitary drum/hub (which I think my Skywing also has, sadly) is a bit of a disappointment.
Actually, come ton think on't, this may not be relevant, but on the Skywing I don't think there IS a torque figure (I can't get a manual for it so I can't be sure)....
Hope you can help.

I think there is only one type for your vehicle. I would go to a main dealer to be sure. It is not an expensive part.
I have noticed an oil leak from a part and I do not know the name of the part.
I have done my best to take some pictures from above and below, can anyone please name the part?... Read more
Thank-you for the suggestion, after Googling and watching a few youtube videos I think you are correct.
My son has a 63 plate seat Leon with a damaged tailgate, which we have just replaced with a used item from a breakers, unfortunately this was from a model with led inner tail lights.
We swapped over the inner light units to use his original units which use filament lamps. All the electrics appeared to be the same except one which fed the n/s connector for the heated screen. To get around this we again swapped over to the original small control unit from his damaged hatch.
The problem now is that the inner lamp units don’t work and nor does the windscreen wiper. The tailgate lock and release DOES work as does the high level stop lamp.
Have I caused a major problem or something that can be sorted with canbus programming?
Edit—- son now tells me that the rear wiper is working, but light aren’t still. Read more
Absolutely.Fixing cars "hands on" is hard enough ,trying to fix them remotely is a real challenge. I still think the problem is related to the tailgate open issue. This will inhibit some circuits. The warning lights showing after a battery disconnect should extinguish after a short drive.
Goodness me--this seems to be getting worse and worse each time I use it. Passengers being dropped off now experience a minimum 5000 +step walk from car drop off to plane boarding( 3 kms).I checked on my phone-same on return.... Read more

Been trying to insure my new van all day and I encountering the problem that when I enter my Reg it comes up with the Renault Master van and not my Maxity. As it is not on their database they are all refusing to insure it.
Any advice on how to move forward with this? I input my reg on here and it comes up with the correct description of the van, ... Read more
The fact that you want to insure it for personal use doesn't change the fact that it is a commercial vehicle. A broker who does not specialise in commercial vehicles is probably only going to be able to quote for more common models, which seems to be what you have experienced.
As a separate issue, I suspect that trying to insure what is essentially a small truck for personal use could well prove tricky. Things may be different now, but in the early 90's I had a small Suzuki van, the predecessor to the Supercarry. Despite having an 800cc engine, it cost a lot more for me to insure it for personal use than a car of a comparable size. When I asked, I was told that insurers are extremely suspicious of someone insuring a commercial vehicle for personal use (possibly thinking that I had a sideline as a 'man with a van').
Can anyone help me with a stereo wiring diagram? Looking to install a aftermarket navigation unit.

You are going to need to buy a workshop manual to get accurate info. Plenty on the bay of fleas. Perhaps join up to a high and dry forum.
I've changed dozens of these valves, its possible that it was not fitted correctly, the temp control should be set at the midway (warm position) before switch on and start up if not it can jam, they are also so poor i've had proper ford ones fail the day after fittting.
