When talking about Automatic Cars Everybody recommeds Japanese cars or korean but i was just wondering why not american makes like chevrolet, ford or chrysler as nearly all americans drive automatics surely they must do good ones ???
on a side note i was recommed honda jazz but as im a first time driver the price of insurance is threw the roof so need to get a cheap car for a now i decided on the toyota corrolla 2002 auto anyone had any exspriences with this car ?? Read more

The renewal quote they sent me was confusing because they quoted one for 4 years no claims and one for 5 years no claims depending on if I wanted to protect it or not. I called up and asked which applied as the accident I had was in 2008, so the 5 years didn't make sense.... Read more

this is due to its cheapest made from other competitors..
2007 mini cooper d, oil pressur light on, runs ok when cold no light on, heats up and of course light on and starts knocking, no oil getting to the top?? is it worth putting a new oil pump in and seeing if it will sort it long enough to sell?? or is it shagged?? Read more
the oil level is regulary checked and is always to its maxium mark!! no more no less!! its the oil pressure light thats on not the oil level!! and is always serviced on time and just serviced 2 months ago,.sorry i didnt give the the full 5 year history! THANKS for all the help in all the replies, yer knowledge on low oil problems is fascinating,..great forum!!! AND yes if i went to the trouble of putting a oil pump,chain and tensioner into it i would flog it!!!
i have a 07 mini cooper d with oil pressure issues. She heard a noise in the engine, felt the pedal was a bit funny, ( loosing power i'd say) oil light came on, drove about another mile and finished her journey. Now start the car when its cold it runs fine no lights on, until it heats up a bit and thins the oil of course, lights on and starts kocking and rattling. It is rare example then, as various mb mechanics I know have never seen it happen on numerous cars fitted with this style of manifold.
Can anyone explain why Shell Fuel save diesel fuel is available one week/month, and not the next? I've noticed this to be the case in East Anglia. It is replaced with "regular diesel" labelling.
I had thought its absence co-incidental with liquididty issues at the Essex refinery, but Fuelsave became available again after that was in the news.... Read more
Be very, very, wary of any attempt by the suppliers to introduce ethanol-diesel to the UK market.
It's very dangerous in an accident and could knacker your car....

That said Ford generally do sell decent autos here but only if its stuck to a big engine. Jaguar and Mercedes Benz would probably be top of the list for intuitive, sensible autos.
