I removed the aloys from my car today and replaced them with steel wheels fitted with winter tyres for the next few months. Are the wheel nuts that you use to attach alloys safe to use with steel wheels also? They seem secure but stand quite proud of the steel wheels as obviously there are no recessed holes for them to 'hide' in like you have with alloys.
Am pretty sure they are ok - just wanted to check what people savvier than me think.... Read more
There can be differences, you really need to go to a Toyota dealer and find out. You do not want your wheels coming off, prosecution and no insurance because of incompatible components comes to mind.
The complaint I sent to the mazda customercare. Hopefully this explains the issue. I think I need to report the bad practices whether it will make a difference or not

If you need help, the CAG forums might bring assistance to bear, but maybe you'd be better off getting legal advice if not confident.
Disappointing news, my legal cover won't support the claim as at the time of accident I was not in the car. It was specifically mentioned in the cover note. ...
Hi all
Apologies for noddy question, but does anyone have specs for the auto gearbox on the 520D SE and/or know where I might find an manual on the internet? I've had a look, but the term 'manual' obviously has a particular connotation when searching for things car-related so no luck yet!... Read more
The BMW5 forum will give you all your answers. :)
I've just seen the above review. Mmmm. The idea of one of these things being on the roads does not appeal. Imagine being on a country lane with no overtaking opportunities, stuck behind one of these things. I can see that it has appeal for parents of 16 year olds who want a moped, and need to get to and from a job, but I think it will annoy a lot of road users. Read more
Very popular here in rural Spain, not driven by teens though, always by people of advanced years, they very rarely impede anyone, driving as far to the right as possible. They make a terrible racket!
Our van was washed away several metres down the lane whilst parked outsde home by flood water. The vehicle was floated down and left agianst a clump of trees facing the torrent. Will water have entered the engine/sump and if so what will be the likely problems to engine and transmission. There is water in the cabin probably via the heater/vents so water washed up to windscreen level. Is there likely to be much damage to underside as ripped up tarmac, stone wall boulders and general debris has been washed under. Local roads unpassable at present so cannot arrange recovery, any advice/suggestions would be apreciated. G.S. Read more
Sounds like an insurance job. I suspect a right off. Regards Peter
Prononounced tranmission whine in 1st, less in 2nd gear, when cold (especially when outside temp is low), reduces noticeably to just audible when warm. Is this normal or a possible problem? Read more
Fiesta is manual, sorry didn't make this clear. Not present when stationary in/out of gear, only when moving. Has 42K miles FSH.

Reminds me of when I was a Saturday boy at a garage not far from Swindon in the 70's. It closed some decades ago.
"What's the Jag XJ6 in for?", says I.
"Clocking".
"Clocking?"
"Yes - it's harder on Jags than on most cars, but possible if you know how."
Hello,
A local dealer has a 2006 Mazda 6 petrol auto with 45k miles; will take my 2003 Nissan Primera 1.8 SE with 68k miles plus £1900 for it.
Three questions:
Will the Mazda be very thirsty compared to my Nissan?
Any history of problems with Mazda automatics?
All considered, does it seem to be a reasonable deal? I'd expect to keep the car for a year or two until the price of post-facelift (2008-) Mazda 6 come down a bit.
Many thanks in advance for any advice offered,
John. Read more
I too had a Mazda 6 petrol manual 1800 cc yet it went like stink reminded me of my old MX5, gorgeous car 38mg achievable, I did test drive an auto too but didnt like it, too small an engine for an auto I thought. Have you considered depreciation? The value of the 6 you are considering will drop like a stone whereas that of the Primera has almost bottomed out. I'd run the Primera into the ground.
I've recently purchased a mazda 3, 100k - Ocassionally say every 2-3 mins on a longer stretch of road at a constant speed there will be a momentary lack of power.
