Having had winter tyres on my Vauxhall Zafira for three seasons now I'm eager to make sure I got some for the new Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 hdi platinum I'm going to lease, so question is, will my current winter tyres fit the new car or will I have to get some new ones?
The Zafira's current winter tyres are ContinentalWinter 205/55 R16.
The recommended spec for Picasso according to Citroen website is 215/50 17, but I know winter tyres are sometimes narrower?

Have you checked that the WHEELS fit?
The C4 range have internal 'spigot' diameter of 65.1mm, and an exact fit will ensure the wheel is truly concentric and secure. If the centre hole is over 65.1mm, a 'concentric reduction spigot' should be fitted, otherwise there will be excessive strain on the bolts/studs because of the inexact fit, which will result in unwanted vibrations....
Hi I don't no if anybody can help, I'm having problems with our car insurance regarding a claim....
Me and my girlfriend both have our own vehicles fully comp insurance can drive others third party etc, one evening 3 weeks ago I drove my girlfriends car home 8:pm parked it at the back of our house on the road as stated on our policy (on a residential street) I think it's called my girlfriend went to her car at 9:00pm to get a bag from it locked it etc, anyway somebody decides to torch it at around 2:00am, police come etc take a few details etc following morning we phone our insurance company report the claim etc, fill in forms take interview over the phone etc, a week later car gets picked up then declared a total loss, then they called with an offer etc which we accepted we sent all paperwork log book keys service history copy of licenses etc, our insurer uses a middleman to do all the paperwork investigations etc called Ivalidate this is where the problems begin.
Another week passes and we get a few strange calls from them going on about who drove the vehicle last which was me, I'm insured licensed not a criminal etc since finding this out they want to come to our house to get my insurance and licence details etc which they already have, how is this relevant who drove it last as it was parked up for hours and my girlfriend went out to it and secured it? So I phoned my insurance who were most helpful and said its rubbish its basically irrelevant I also phone the financial ombudsman insurance department and they also agreed so why the interview at home? I've given them all the details they could possibly need and more yet they are still being obstructive rude and difficult and unsympathetic, yet another week passes we both work out of town we only have one car now £75 a week in taxis and its really getting us down they reckon it could take up to another 8 WEEKS!, we are decent people from good backgrounds own our own home etc no criminal records but being treated like criminals how is this fair is this normal behaviour? Is this how these things normally go or are we just unlucky? Any help anybody could offer we would really appreciate some help thanks.... Read more
Hi
I would imagine that your insurance companies agent ,ivalidate, are employed to keep down the cost of insurance claims ,hence all the hassle they are giving you .
It's now two weeks since your car was taken away and you agreed to accept the insurance companies offer ,it shouldn't take much longer than that to settle your claim. I wonder if they are looking for reasons not to pay out .
I would suggest that you write to the agents and tell them that you have waited long enough ,it's time for them to pay the agreed amount .
Tell the agents that if a cheque is not forthcoming within 7 days you will hire a car and charge them for it .As you say in your post you need a car to travel to work . Tell the agent that if the cheques not received you will pursue your insurance company through the small claims court for the cost of the hire car .
Because the agents are employed to keep claims cost down ,I think you will receive a cheque soon after they receive your letter .

This could be interesting if it comes about.

I own a 60 plate fiesta which has done 18 thousand miles. While at the end of a 120 mile journey last week it developed a strange rattling sound. I pulled into a car park and called breakdown service and was towed home.
The car has been diagnosed by Ford as needing a new short motor which will cost £3750 and they are claiming the fault has originated in a spark plug and ruined the engine from there. As such they are refusing my claim on the warranty. I know hardly anything about cars and have not got a clue what to do next. Surely a car that is only 18 months old should be covered by the warranty on this? Read more
And some of the media tell us Ford are on a par with Audi VW etc. Have found dealer warranties are on a par with some warranty insurance deals. You guys should get onto Watchdog.
Hello everyone, this subject may heve been covered previously, but I need some help. I have just encountered a problem with my car key. I bought the car second hand and it came with only one key. The usual 'flip out' VAG group key fob. No problem for 6 years until the fob plays up and I cannot get into the car. Not only due to fob or battery being defunct but the physical key will not open the door lock, and will only operate the ignition lock. Having replaced the battery and back to normal I am now aware that this problem may recur. Is it possible to obtain replacement keys for 1. a new fob which operates the locks etc remotely as a spare 2. a new fob with a physical key that will operate the door lock when the battery is defunct? I am told that a main dealer will charge a small fortune for such a service and wondered if any forum members had solved this problem previously. Any comments gratefully received. Cheers Concrete Read more
Thanks for comments so far. Very helpful. I am going to see Timpsons later today and see what they can offer. I also intend to visit my main dealer( who do service the car) and see about matching up the cylinder locks, assuming I can arrange a second mortgage first!!!I did spray WD40 into the lock and it does seem free enough, just the wrong key . I will let you have my progress in case this happens to anyone else. Thanks again. Concrete

Most but not all. Several motoring forums have been uncovering this.
The article you have quoted is a specific question to Honest John in January this year. In the reply Honest John says that Direct Line admitted they were wrong. In the table in the link very few companies require you to inform them and none will refuse cover or charge more....
My Audi has developed an undiagnosed loud rattle underneath, mid way; the engine and exhaust are OK. It disappears going up hill, and gets worse going down hill and even worse when depressing the clutch. Any ideas anyone please? Read more
You do not mention what engine it is and whether the rattle is there at idle. Has anyone checked the Dual Mass Flywheel. Regards Peter
