Ford Mondeo 1.8L Estate (2003) - Nearside Rear Shock Absorber - Rubber Stopper - Schmoo27

Hi Guys

I noticed when checking the heat cover for the back box on a Ford Mondeo Estate (1.8l, 2003), that the rubber cover for what I think is the nearside rear shock absorber has deterioted on one side (with a hole big enough to put a couple of fingers through) - is this an easy job to do for someone who isnt a mechanic by trade, or is it a big, expensive job that needs urgent attention?.

Thanks

Kevin

Do you mean the rubber bump stop that mates to the lower supension arm,or the rubber convoluted protector that fits around the top of shock absorber?

Hi Mate

Yes, the rubber bump stop that mates to the lower arm. The nearside one is worn as mentioned, with a gap about 2-3cm wide and from roughly 0.2-1cm in height. The offside one is unaffected at the moment.

Thanks
