when i start my car it will idle at 5000 rpm approx and when i try to rev it ,it will go up to about 9000-10000 then cut out after about 4-5 attemps it will eventually rev but reluctantly but when i drive off it will seem to shudder and sometimes cut out ??? also no lights on dash any ideas ??? Last fuel pump i got overhauled was £600.00 just for the pump you have fitting and a warranty so about £900.00 i think.
Plus the other part, your choice trade it in if it still runs.

It could be but more likley the seals in the primer pump have failed and returning fuel back to tank.
Check return feed for bubbles and check all hoses to primer for splits as air can be sucked in here....
