Hi, my car appears to have a short possibly in the alarm system. The red alarm led on the dash stays lit permanently. When arming/disarming the alarm the indicators do not flash but doors lock/unlock. When starting the car it really labours to start and all interior lights and dash lights flash on and off. I think it's a short and would love some ideas on where exactly to start looking, haven't tried disconnecting the battery as I don't want to risk making it worse as at least the car still starts at the moment Read more
drivers side wheel bearing/disc/pads started to make a rattling sound, a friend changed the bearing and it seemed ok for a week and it came back, he fitted another bearing and it was ok for a while then the noise was back, i decided to put new discs and pads on which i got from a spares shop, fitted them and ok for a while then the noise was back, had them off and put anti squeal copper grease on and after a month the noise returns, any ideas guys. Hi,
I have a S40 with 170k on the clock. Great car and love it even though its becoming a rougher ride. Lots of sound and vibrations coming from the engine and road. In 2,3 and 4 at medium speeds it feels like engine is not performing well (like its stalling). When driving at 60+ the car is great drive and nothing wrong. What can cause a car to act so badly at low speeds? Read more

That depends on what variant car you have, how old it is, how much of the work you are prepared to do yourself etc etc why don't you ring up and ask them?

I must admit, there is an optimum temperature range when my little Mazda 2 feels at its best. This seems to be single figure temperatures but not too close to freezing. This isn't imagination as a local hill needs a down shift in warm weather.

The danger of driving when the road is wet is tenfold especially when you are new to driving. An inexperienced fellow in a driver’s seat during a rainstorm can put others at risk as well himself. If you are experienced enough, there is no need to panic but not everyone comes as an expert in driving. Rain brings out the worst in most drivers and can cause dangerous driving hazards. The following tips are some of the safety measures which you can adopt to protect yourself while driving on raining days:
* Turn on the lights and wipers. Slow down instantly when the rain starts as rain water mixed with oil can make the road slippery and slick.
* Don’t follow another driver too closely and try to keep plenty of distance between the front and back vehicles.
* Pay attention to the pedestrians walking aside or trying to cross the road.
* Pull off the road if the rain is too heavy and the road is unclear.
* Drive in the lane which is closer to the center as the slow lanes may have water build ups and is not safe. Read more
