Some of the paint on the undersill (passenger side) of my 2002 A3 has started to flake off. Does anyone have any tips re how to treat and protect? I imagine the area will need rubbing down, treating and re-painting.
Thanks Read more
The beauty of the Dinitrol brown wax is that it can be applied to a "loose and flaking" surface. It provides outstanding protection aganst further rusting if it is applied to a rusty surface. When applied warm, its low viscosity allows it to penetrate seams and spot welds and the evaporation of the solvent then leaves a hard wax layer.

I am looking to buy a new car for September and have narrowed it down to these 2. The Hyundai is 1.7Diesel 2WD and the Renault is the new 1.6 Diesel engine. I have owned Renaults for the last 5 cars but have never had a Hyundai. If anyone has anything to say about either of these 2 I would be grateful as I need to make a decision!! Read more
The only problem with a Hyundai IX35 is getting delivery as they've been in short supply since launch - apart from that it's a no-brainer compared to the Renault.
Other more expensive models might make the choice more difficult but not from your shortlist.
Hi Guys, quick one:
Does the warranty on a new car purchased from Mazda begin on the day you take delivery of the car or from the day the car had been ordered??
Thanks in advance. Read more

Could anyone please help with identification of codes. RAC computer showed 2 codes with no texts and recovery guy claims they might just be inherent codes as no text and not a problem but want to make sure for peace of mind. Codes are P00CC and U3F00.. Many thanks Read more
On 18.10.2010 I bought a Citroen C5, 2.0 HDi 138 EU4 Diesel VTR 5 door estate manual 6Spd from the main local Citroen dealership. After checking my paperwork and details of DVLA records I realised that the car sold to me was not that of the above description but a C5 VTR HDi 1560 which has a 1.6 litre engine with only a five speed gear box and not a 2,0 litre engine with a six speed gear box!
In addition to not receiving the goods I purchased the vehicle sold to me did not perform as it should have and was faulty right from the beginning. On 21 st October I returned it to the showroom because the EML was registering a pollution filter fault and the trip computer was not working properly. I also complained about the oil being particularly black and questioned if it had been changed before I bought the car. The light continued to come on periodically but after studying the instruction manual of the car, which stated that the pollution filter cleans itself at regular intervals above a certain speed, my concerns were alleviated that the pollution filter would clean itself. The car also lost acceleration once or twice over the 3 months period but corrected itself after a short time. ... Read more

Is there any chance that you're inadvertantly setting the cruise control to LIM - this will cause the auto to quite violently change down in overspeed conditions, although acompanied by a warning on the dash.
I've been pondering with this car over the past few weeks.

If it's still a decent workhorse, why get rid? Sounds like you've got a cracking car there. We had a Volvo 340 when I was a little'un. It was a tank. Someone crashed into us at some lights and the Volvo didn't have a scratch on it. As a child, we found the hatch in the back seat that let you look into the boot very entertaining, as the dog would try to squeeze through it onto the back seat. My mum and dad only got rid because it had no power steering and it was very heavy for my mum to drive.

Looking at those for sale on Autotrader, £375 seems about right. Someone could get a fair deal from you there.
