If I remember correctly, the 9-5 HOT Aero had in-gear acceleration that could match far more exotic stuff from Porsche at the time.

You don't! It was Ferrari....

My sister is looking for a first car (just passed). She's got £2500 which has to cover the insurance as well. She's almost 25 and has never owned a car before. She's a nervous driver, so it's got to be a piddling little Lego car type thing. I'm definitely going with her to help her buy one as well!

I have narrowed it down to a Ford Ka or an early Toyota Yaris, but I am open to suggestions - but no Corsas, Peugeots or Citroens please! Read more

Car park charges only ever go up. However, I recently came across what is the biggest percentage increase I have ever seen. Luton and Dunstable Hospital have increased their minimum charge from £2-50 for 5 hours to £4 for 3 hours. This is an increase of over 100% for those who can often least afford it! Has anyone seen greater? Read more

After paying parking charges for over a month visiting a sick relative we mentioned in passing to the ward sister (sorry manager!) about the cost of parking. "Oh I can give you a form to get in for nothing" she said. No mention of that on any posters or information leaflets, and no offer of a refund either.

In this week's Autocar there's a photo of fairly complex model of an Audi that's been made from paper, with lots of flat surfaces representing curves, a bit like a basic 3D computer image would look. A few pages on, there's a photo of Lambourghini's latest real* car which has decidedly 'origanmi' styling!

Since Audi took over, Lambo's have gone from being a jumped up Alfa into being a car which actually......works. Albiet the sensible Germans have applied common sense to the car building meaning many "enthusiasts" of the wacky Lambo days arent happy.

What i do love is clearly they still let the Italians write the brochure.

Assuming 2 cars were the same price - is it more sensable to go with something newer, but with more miles - or one that is older but with less miles?

eg: Late 2007 & 60,000 miles - or Early 2006 & 40,000 miles... Read more

Sorry wrong wording. To clarify - the bit where you insert the silly pear shaped saab key to start the thing. On the saab it's down near the handbrake. Well it refused to accept the key and the car wouln't start. That was approx a month after buying it, close to Christmas and cost a fortune to replace. Saab 93 tid Vector Sport worst car I ever owned.

Tapping sensation on the brake pedal sounds like a ABS problem not a fuel pump failure or have not fully understood.
