My Toyota Hilux has recently been diagnosed with faulty fuel injectors despite only having done 37,000 miles. Ive been quoted £2,400 + VAT for the repairs. I have read in various places about Toyota having had problems with the injector seals, the old copper ones being changed to aluminium ones i think. I am away to write to Toyota but I was just wandering if other people know anything else about this?? Any help would be gratefully received.
thanks again

I had to find a torx to fit the bolts, but I got the EGR off, and it was clogged up really badly. I could hear it scratch going up and down when I pushed the valve up. So I cleaned it up and put it back as normal, and now the car feels a lot better.
The car uses pretty much no oil at all. I only replace during services. Check regularly, but never had a drop in levels....
Hi
I want to get a key cut for my ford focus Mk2. I only want to open the door with it. I sometimes do some watersports and I have to protect the focus keys very well for it not to get wet. By keeping the fob keys in the glovebox or elsewhere safe then I can lock the car with the other key and keep it in my swimming shorts. Even if it gets wet, it is ok.
What do you think? Where can i get keys cut? How much is it?

Then it isn't fine at all! There are a lot of threads about broken crankshaft pulleys for this type of engine. Maybe one of them may be relevant. If the timing belt has jumped a couple of teeth that would cause some smoking and loss of power.

DMF 's are fitted to most cars both petrol and diesel Mercedes have been using them for years with no problems ,the DMF fitted to the Saab/Opel/Vauxhall/Fiat/Alfa are all the same and around 2006 to 2008 they seem to have had a problem with the product. Many cars with simple clutch problems are diagnosed as having a DMF problem a money earner for garages when really its only the plate that is worn.

You've already posted this query in the Technical section (which is where it should be) - no need to post here as well.
If anyone wants to advise, please see the similar thread in Technical.

Just had my first experience of a test drive for a brand new car from a main dealer. Very disappointed.
I arrive at the booked time and have to sit through a HPI check and inspection of my current car - even though I hadn't even mentioned part-ex or a trade-in price (after all this he wouldn't even tell me the part-ex price; "not our policy until you agree to buy") and a mini unwanted finance speech (despite me saying twice I'm looking to pay cash in full)... Cannot agree with that I'm afraid.

I have been told this is attached to the turbo? inside the pipe is thick with carbon. Would the turbo be to blame?...

My 2007 Hilux, now sold, had new injectors and associated plumbing and seals just out of warranty, all under goodwill, and that price is about right, the parts alone are £1700+vat.
If Toyota themselves have diagnosed this, presumably you have the cold rattles, then the dealer should be in touch with Toyota UK already on your behalf, assuming this is a UK model Hilux and not a Vigo, if it's a Vigo grey unfortunately they won't want to know....
