Hi
I want to get a key cut for my ford focus Mk2. I only want to open the door with it. I sometimes do some watersports and I have to protect the focus keys very well for it not to get wet. By keeping the fob keys in the glovebox or elsewhere safe then I can lock the car with the other key and keep it in my swimming shorts. Even if it gets wet, it is ok.
What do you think? Where can i get keys cut? How much is it?

Then it isn't fine at all! There are a lot of threads about broken crankshaft pulleys for this type of engine. Maybe one of them may be relevant. If the timing belt has jumped a couple of teeth that would cause some smoking and loss of power.

DMF 's are fitted to most cars both petrol and diesel Mercedes have been using them for years with no problems ,the DMF fitted to the Saab/Opel/Vauxhall/Fiat/Alfa are all the same and around 2006 to 2008 they seem to have had a problem with the product. Many cars with simple clutch problems are diagnosed as having a DMF problem a money earner for garages when really its only the plate that is worn.

You've already posted this query in the Technical section (which is where it should be) - no need to post here as well.
If anyone wants to advise, please see the similar thread in Technical.

Just had my first experience of a test drive for a brand new car from a main dealer. Very disappointed.
I arrive at the booked time and have to sit through a HPI check and inspection of my current car - even though I hadn't even mentioned part-ex or a trade-in price (after all this he wouldn't even tell me the part-ex price; "not our policy until you agree to buy") and a mini unwanted finance speech (despite me saying twice I'm looking to pay cash in full)... Cannot agree with that I'm afraid.
I'm spending a huge amount of money on a car that I intend to keep for years. I want to compare cars so I'd like to know how they feel and drive a bit not just that they 'work'...

How do you resert the service indicator on V70? Read more
Try this.
The service reminder indicator (SRI) informs the driver that it is time for the car to be serviced. The lamp remains lit for 120 seconds when the ignition is switched on.
Note! If the lamp flashes, it may be because one of the service parameters has not been programmed.
Proceed as follows to reset the service reminder indicator (SRI):
-Ignition position I
-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer
-Ignition position II
-The service reminder indicator (SRI) starts flashing when the reset button for the trip odometer has been pressed for 10 seconds
-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 5 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded.
Note! If the trip meter reset button is not released within 5 seconds the indicator is not reset. However the indicator will stop flashing....
Hi im after a vaux auto zafira i think, any feedback on the most reliable variant? after reading the top 10 cars im confused diesel or not?
i have 5k to spend need an auto though. Read more
If you're looking at a Zafira B (late 2005 on) then the 2.2 auto will be most reliable. You may read some negative comments on the 2.2 direct, but since the fuel pressure regulator has been re-called (Vauxhall will still do it for free if you find one that hasn't been done yet), there's little to complain about. We've had a 2.2 auto for 4 years and 70k miles now, it seems unbreakable, so much so we've bought another (younger one) to match! You will find the 2.2 auto is priced a lot cheaper than the diesel. £5k should get you a 2006 car with reasonable miles. For the diesel, you'll be looking at much, much higher mileage cars.
Avoid the 1.9 CDTI auto, it's a disaster zone - there's expensive problems with EGR valves, DPF systems, swirl valves, radiators, water pumps shredding cambelts etc etc... The 6 speed auto gearbox on the CDTI is not as tough as the old 4 speed unit you get on the 2.2 petrol either....

this is brillant mate. never thought of this alternative
