I am considering changing from a 1.9td fiat scudo to a 1.6hdi citroen despatch.
The scudo has been a reliable work horse for the past 5 years, but now with the price of diesel being so high,i am looking for the same reliability, servicabiliy, performance but with much improved mpg. Read more
having trouble with my wipers, they don't work sometimes or they go slow----today they won;t work at all but i can hear the motor running on both speeds??
Hi, this is a common problem with galaxy, alhambra's and sharen's . The wiper shafts let in water after a while and start to corrode. If you are quick you can strip down and grease shafts and linkages. If left it will burn out the wiper motor which is very expensive to replace. Hope this helps. Sparky100.
I am in the process of looking for an estate type car to replace my car/van combination but my trips round the car supermarkets, dealers and auctions is leaving me cold, they are all beginning to look the same, and never mind if you can't get anything through the tailgate so long as it looks rounded off, the colours don't help, hea*** black, or silver mostly, even worse when you get inside, vision to the rear for reversing is appalling, facing forward not much better with massive facias and sloping windows, like peering through a tank slit ! i know much of this is due to safety etc but surely it needen't be this bad ! I am coming to the UK to work on a contract and I have a choice of a company car or money instead I have looked at the available cars and really none inspire me.I have a BMW 520 of my own a few years old now but I always enjoy driving it.At the present I am travelling in Germany in a 407 1.6hd1sw a absolute nothing of a car does what it says on the box but no character at all.
I think as I only need a small car a Suzuki Swift or a Mitsubishi Colt will fit the bill or a Chevrolet Lacetti estate seems extremely good value for money and I would have quite a bit over from my allowance if I went that route, mondeo man I am not
Hi all, first time here but hoping i can get a solution. I have an old company car that is used by various staff for running around and the last member of staff who i had to sack decided to return the car with all of the vacuum pipes disconnected inside the engine bay. The car needless to say limps along but has no guts. Is there any way I can find out which pipes go to where so i can simply reconnect the. Ideally a schematic download or a diagram would help.

It doesn't start off good. Does it ?...
Does anyone here have any real life experience of insurance that uses telematics to monitor your driving?
I'm looking at how to get my 17 yo son mobile at an affordable price. Having a black box installed looks a viable option with the added advantage of having someone looking over his shoulder to (hopefully) curb any thoughts of him driving like a looney. The Co-Op will cancel the insurance if you perpetually stray from the sensible and that to me at least, sounds like a good idea for young drivers. May not be cool, but neither is standing at a bus stop. Read more
My partner would rather use her own i10 for work purposes than a 3 series company car as the 3 series comes with a tracker, speed limiter (70) and flags up speeding in normal roads and beeps for 10 seconds - if you don’t lower your speed within 10 seconds they call you in. Do it 3 times in a calendar month and it’s goodbye. As you can gather, very few staff now choose the company car option. Furthermore, very few staff are still with them as most work in sales and do significant mileage’s. And And yes, they have a staff shortage but don’t blame the new car policy despite the majority of staff stating it was a major reason in their leaving interviews.
I presume your partner is happy to pay the extra insurance for business use, I certainly would think it was worth it to feel free from interference,

Massive discounts on retail in Germany on most cars.
Would like to know opinions of all those interested on adherence to the set speed limits in this fair land of ours (or thereabouts)(Speed limit +10% + 2mph?).
Of, late I have been increasingly aware of many drivers willing to blatantly flout the set speed limits, and in some cases exceeded by a hideous margin.... Read more
And why is lane 1 at a standstill? Because of last minute mergers being foolishly let in by misguidedly sympathetic drivers in lane 1. If traffic flow in the constriction is limited to say 50 cars/minute, then no matter how you arrange it only 50 cars/minute can flow through the open lanes previous to the restriction.
I quite agree that a long, thin queue is sometimes undesirable, but this usually only occurs with poorly signposted lane closures (ie the lad given the job of posting 400 yard sign doesn't have a clue what 400 yards actually is!)...
The clutch in my Golf slips in all gears but 1st and 2nd. It has had a new DMF and clutch.
The clutch was difficult to bleed out. (apparently) The pedal sometimes drops during the night and when it has the clutch does not slip. After a short time it begins to slip again and the peddle settles to its correct height.... Read more

The PSA DV6 1.6HDi diesel engine is bullet proof, BUT the oil must not only be changed every 20,000km12,500miles, the old oil must be thoroughly drained out. Do not skimp on non-PSA oil filters, use the genuine article.
This engine will run for ever and give excellent mpg.
