Hi
I have a T reg Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25. For about 8 months now I have had constant problems with the dashboard lights fusing. Sometimes it is just the dashboard lights fusing sometimes also the rear left light and left sidelight and even at times the reg plate lights, although indicators and full headlights are fine. I have replaced the fuses often, taken it to the mechanics twice who have spent an hour trying to make the fuse blow (unsuccesfully). They changed the fuse from a 7 to 10 amp to try to help with the problem.... Read more
Hi
I took delivery of my new Ford Kuga in November. I had ordered it from Ford on line and had some extras. I wanted bluetooth handsfree kit and the salesman said that it was free, along with the appearance pack for anyone ordering before the end of the year. When I took delivery from a Dagenham Ford salesroom, I didnt notice the appearance pack wasnt there but the salesman assurred me the bluetooth was. My last Ford car failed to have the bluetooth fitted so I was most particular to know that it was there. He said I would have to fiddle around alighning it with my phone. However when I got homeI realized it wasnt there. Ford on line now say I should have rejected the car, but I needed it to go on holiday the next day. They now tell me I cannot have the bluetooth fittd once it has left the factory. Kuga owners on line tell me they have fitted it themselves, but the voice control isnt there as its on the steering column. They are trying to fob me off with a parrot device, which I had to have last time. The Ford on line sales manager has been "looking into" getting the bluetooth fitted for me since I took delivery. Can anyone tell me why ford cannot fit this device after it has come from the factory. I think I am being fobbed off. They said I can have the appearance pack fitted anyway no charge.... Read more
Maybe the bluetooth is actually built into the radio and a slightly different wiring loom is used making it an expensive change- just a guess .
I have a VW mk2 Golf 1300 with transistorized ignition and 2E3 carb. Sometimes after driving at 60 mph then slowing down to 20 mph the engine will become very hesitant and power is reduced, eventually there is no response from the accelerator and the engine will chug to holt and then off. The engine does not re-start strait away. I have to wait 2 minutes say before the engine can be restarted, then all is normal again.
Also in general the engine will sometimes hesitate, especially when pulling away.... Read more
Problem solved, the fault was a leaking hole in the vacuum hose so I replaced it. So you're right the carb was freezing.
i am having trouble starting in the morning, it is clicking and the lights on the dash go dimmer, after about 6-8 times of this happening it starts and runs fine, i havediscovered that i have had a leak in the rad but have resolved this, the starting prob continues, i have thought of solenoid or starter motor issues but would appreciate any help as i have lost my job due to recession and cant afford the charges that dealers issue to diagnostic check. please help

Hi, I would appreciate some advice:
My 06 plate VW Mk V Golf TDi has developed a bit of an electrical snag. I hadn't started it for a couple of weeks. When I did I discovered that the following things had failed:... Read more
I would start by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins and re-try to see if the central body controller re-boots.If this is not a fix, then you need to check the fuses in the engine bay fuse box and the one located at the end of the dash by drivers door.hth
For problem fix issues on my 05 PAssat I am looking for a recommended service centre around Basingstoke.
I live close to Martins, the main VW service centre in Basingstoke, but their prices are pretty horrible. I have been recommended to use Grantleys as a knowledgable independant at about 1/2 the cost. Does anyone on here have any good (or bad) feedback about them. I am not looking for bog standard servicing, but fault finding, diesel expertise etc. Any other good independants? Read more

Battery went flat over christmas whilst parked up for 1 week, called AA Homestart, engineer installed brand new battery (charged up) left car for a further week (not driven at all) and battery totally dead, anyone else had this before I call AA again?... Read more
This seems to be quite a common problem now, not specifically on your particular car but generally, probably due the the ammount of electronic equipment on modern cars.
The problem is probably being caused by something which is continuing to draw current from the battery when the car is not being used. Check in the dark and make sure there are not any lights left on, in the boot for instance, if nothing found connect a multimeter on the amps range between the battery positive terminal and the connector which you will have removed, this is with everything turned off, a reading of a few mili amps is normal but it should certainly not exceed 100, that would flatten a good say 40ah battery in 400 hours, other currents and capacities pro rata....
Hallo, Can anyone advise on this problem with my wife's car.It runs fine but has the odd habit of the revs not wanting to drop...
When STATIONARY it will idle (when warm) at a steady 800 rpm, but when coasting down to a halt it will not rev below 1500 rpm!... Read more
I am starting a new job in Feb which has a non-car allowance of £400 p/m. Having never had such a thing I am a bit lost.
I don't know whether to spend the £4,800 from savings and just replace it with the allowance, which would give me a lump sum to spend on a car that is needed to:... Read more
I would keep the Passat. If you find it doesn't cope with winter conditions then just get a second set of winter wheels and tyres. Unfortunately the Germans have been buying up all winter tyres as they changed the law here so you may have to wait until the summer. Sorry about that!
