Not exactly "everything" you need to know, what about parking near a junction, parking the wrong way round at night, restricting access for emergency vehicles etc. Read more
If a car repeatedly parks on my property and I warn them if they do it again (which they are) can I then clamp them???

My windscreen cracked (as have loads of them due to an unknown fault) then my ecu fused itself and wouldnt turn the car off after a burning smell inside. The wind noise at 40mph is worse than my mums old chevrolet cruze at 70mph.
It barely gets over 50mpg. Some covers are stuck on with double sided sticky foam. The car reeks of glue so bad the salesman himself was ill. Google prius death smell.
The tyres had been mounted using oil that sprayed all over the brakes and paint. Toyota (motorline group kent) tried using an old towel to scratch it all off...sorry remove it. My brakes now squeal and dont work well.
Its been in the garage as long as I have had it. The local dealer also called me several colourful names and tried to blame me. I witnessed them talking about charging me for locks I didnt need.
Forget this car and get a proper brand like audi bmw etc.

I am not sure where I read this but is there a company that comes out to your offices and sorts your wheels out for you?
More importantly are they good? I have a buckled rim or 2 and one wheel has a little kerb rash and it would be great to have everything sorted at once.
If not any places you would recommend and how long is your car out of action? Read more
If these truly are what you say they are " mags" dont even think about it. Aluminium maybe just but not magnesium.
Going through some old family paperwork the older generation found a receipt for the cost of servicing a Morris Traveller in 1964. Service carried out at village garage - 10,000 miles - 14 shillings and 6 d. For those who've only lived in decimal times that equates to, I'm told, 72.5 pence. The 9,000 mile service was the same price!
2 gallons of Fina petrol - 8 shillings and 10 d. The equivalent of about 44 pence, 22 pence a gallon just to clarify. Read more
Only rich people paid for 'servicing' and repairs in the 60s. I remember my old Ford Pop losing 1st gear (lost a few teeth from the cogwheel). Jacked it up, undid prop shaft, dropped the box, dismantled and replaced offending cog. Well within capability of a child brought up with a Meccano set (like German children probably still are).
The pipe on the Back Box on my Automatic Ford Focus has rusted through, there are many sellers on a popular auction site but some mention it is for a manual gearbox, it looks the same as mine which is an auto box.
Anyone know if the rear box is different for the auto?... Read more
I thought I might aswell ring an exhaust place early Monday morning to get a quote to supply and fit a back box, gave him my phone number.
I told him it was an auto, and is the original pipe so it will need cutting....
I'm looking at my next car purchase (sometime before March 2018).
Having been through a series of PCP agreements I've decided to purchase my next car outright. Looking to spend around £25k. I'm after something luxurious, quickish, automatic, not "sporty" - I'm after comfort and speed. I had a Jaguar XF in 2010 from new and to date it was the best car I have driven.... Read more
We usually get some snow in winter.RWD cars - such as Mercedes either have plonkers as drivers, too much power or unsuitable tyres as they appear undriveable by the majoirty of drivers in snow.. (Not that FWD cars are a lot better but at least with care you can start off:-)
Agreed. I've got a set of winter wheels and tyres for the 3 series, and they make a huge difference. Pirelli Sottozero tyres, I seem to recall. They go on in November, and they stay on until early April.
Contemplating buying a new car, specifically a Dacia Sandero 1.0 Ambience with met paint, cost about £8,000. Very little discount available (understandably). Or possibly a Suzuki Baleno 1.2 (available at about £8,800 with 265 discount via Drive the Deal.
On the Dacia, on PCP, there's a £400 'dealer contribution' and an upgraded 5 year warranty. I know that dealers get commission on PCP etc. deals.... Read more
PCP deals may be suitable for some but you are potentially buying into a world of financial complexity and small print.
Other have written that there are ways out if you want them - voluntary termination, cancel within 15 days etc. But you need to be very clear about what is in the agreements you sign and how the consumer credit acts work....
I had a cataract operation 2 days ago on my right eye. I regard my vision in this eye as excellent now and I could easily pass any driving related sight test. My left eye has recently been tested and it passed the driving standard.
I can see lots of information on the net saying it is ok to drive the next day after an op if you can satisfy the driving standard.... Read more
Surely the doctor or consultant can only rely on what you tell them.If you consider that it is safe for you to drive, then drive. There are already too many people who drive whilst not meeting the required standards and many who can see but don't look.
Hello, I am looking at buying a second hand cars, but I am not very knowledgeable about vehicle technical matters.
I have recently viewed a 2011 diesel Ford Fiesta and a 2012 diesel Peugeot 308 and I noticed something in common with both of them, which didn't seem normal to me. They both seemed to have part of the engine covered in a knobbled casing which didn't look quite right.... Read more
My explanation is that Peugeot's recommended oil-change intervals were too long; I have cut them from 12K miles to 8K or less
Spot on. Peugeot made a huge mistake in claiming 20,000 miles was suitable. They obviously never did any long term testing and saw that the turbo oil feed pipe would block up....

Have tried closing windows by using the key method all the other windows open and close by this method. The motor reg makes a sound so assume electric is going to it . Makes a squeaking sound like a jammed motor trying to work .but does not .
