The petrol versions will be expensive to both buy and run. Four wheel drive should be an option for the petrol versions unless it's not permanent 4-wheel drive as is the case for the Lexus NX. Be good to see a back-to-back test with the new Alfa
Or do what I did and buy one of these for our two beardies in the back of our Yeti.

Light enough (just) to lift out and use outside the car when necessary. Only problem is that when being used as an 'open' kennel at, say, a campsite or holiday cottage etc only one dog can use the open side. The other dog either stays outside or has to be locked in because both doors won't open at the same time. However the great adgvantage compared to a seat back guard is that you can open the rear hatch and choose when to release either dog and handle just one at a time, rather than having the dog/dogs rush you as the boot is opened. Hi all, any advice you can give would be appreciated. I am in the process of changing our mk3 galaxy to the latest mk4. Our mk3 Ford roofbars seem to clamp onto the opposite side of the fixed rails (external side) to that of the new model, however Halfords, Thule etc all use the same foot pack for both models from what I have seen online. Has anyone re-used their old roof bars on the newer model or know 100% if they are compatible or not.
I would just try them however I will need them straight after the car handover so I need to buy some very soon if they will not fit.
If anyone knows the brand of towbar Ford use that would also be appreciated. I believe it is westfalia.
Thank you for any help. Read more
So I took my works van for its mot on monday , booked into the ford main dealers, ( transit connect), it passed but the tester said the two front tyres were 3mm but the fleet management company won't change until 2mm, fair enough ,Tuesday I noticed one of the rear tyres was low, and found a nail in the tyre, so off I go to Kwik fit to get, as it turned out a new tyre, but the fitter said the front tyres were at 2mm and was authorised, by the fleet company to change them, so that got me thinking, if the dealers technician had said the tyres were 2mm but were actually worn so they were illegal, what would happen if I were stopped by the police who then checked the tyres and found them to be illegal and issued me with a notice, how would I stand if the van had passed its mot and I had the documentation saying everything was OK inc the tyres, or would I be expected to check the tread depth immediately after having an mot? I had cheap Chinese ditchfinders on my C5, when winter arrived I spent a couple of hours towing dozens of colleagues' stuck cars out of the company car park, including a 4WD Audi S4 shod with worn premium rubber.

Watchdog this evening highlights problems owners have encountered following the mandetary software upgrade.
Owners report of loss of power and cars going into limp mode on motorways requiring recovery to Main Dealers.
Common action is to replace the EGR as according to the programme this device has to work extra hard to deal with the additional emissions.
Some owners even refusing ro have the modification done.
Must be awful to be caught up with this and to have no financial support from VW Read more
I'd forgotten he said that, Manatee - thanks for the reminder.
Surely in view of that, and the sundry problems being experienced with cars that have had the 'fix', the advice has got to be 'don't have it done'. ...
