Or do what I did and buy one of these for our two beardies in the back of our Yeti.

Light enough (just) to lift out and use outside the car when necessary. Only problem is that when being used as an 'open' kennel at, say, a campsite or holiday cottage etc only one dog can use the open side. The other dog either stays outside or has to be locked in because both doors won't open at the same time. However the great adgvantage compared to a seat back guard is that you can open the rear hatch and choose when to release either dog and handle just one at a time, rather than having the dog/dogs rush you as the boot is opened.
