Should a claim by a named driver be entered against the policyholder when applying for insurance?

We are about to renew the insurance on my wife's car, which is insured in her name and on which I am a named driver. A couple of year ago we had an accident while I was driving. We claimed on the insurance for the repairs - all that was settled some time ago. When seeking quotes for the renewal with online comparison sites should this claim be entered against her name as policyholder or against my name as the named driver having the accident?

When you are a named driver on a car insurance policy, any claims made should go through the main policy holder. Therefore you should declare it under your wife’s details.
