We bought a new motorhome in September 2013. In December the manufacturer ( or converter to be precise) visited us to correct a safety issue as part of a recall and noted in writing that we have up to 25% damp in places.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed me that a roof joint had been poorly sealed by ther converter and allowed water ingress. The dealer said they resealed it and any residual damp would dry out in time.... Read more

The total cost was £41,000. Some came from a p/ex, the deposit of £2000 was credit card and the balance was paid by debit card.

As the total is over £30,000 I don't think we can involve the credit card company.

I had been under the impression that people over 70 were entitled to home visits by their doctor. However, I now read that no one is entitled to a home visit. Has it ever been that over 70s were entitled to home visits ? if so when did it change ? Read more

My late mother, a few years ago, was able to get home visits without too much trouble. She was in her nineties, had long-diagnosed heart and other problems, and used a wheelchair.

As usual with doctors' surgeries, their resources are over-stretched and they have to prioritise. The receptionist who fields your first approach is key; if you feel the patient is too ill, weak, or is otherwise unable to attend, you must make your case for a home visit as firmly, persistently and politely as you can....

Just wondering how insurance companies generally view Cat D repaired cars and if they load premiums accordingly.

mate of mine bought a written off car, it had been written off as all the doors were damaged, not a single other thing wrong with it. he managed to source replacement doors from scrap dealers. all together a significant saving over buying a perfect car, although obviously he had the hassle of tracking the doors down and fitting them.

Has anyone had any sucess in repairing the radio aerial amplifier fitted to the rear screen of the saloon version of the A4.

I have noticed that there is a crack across the plastic case of the amplifier near the connectors.... Read more

Thanks for your advise.

But I notice from the Audi forums that the problem may lie in the contact with the rear window and someone suggested soldering a piece of wire to the amplifier centre pin to act as an antenna....

Ford dealers used to have a sales promotion whey they put what purported to be the FOMoCo invoice for the car, on the windscreen, and sell it for that +£100.

Financial analysts suggest that the rising level of car sales is at least partly due to the the £2billion that has gone into people's pockets from PPI Mis-selling payouts.

I have a 58 reg (jan 2009) Movano van on which the side door is sticking. The issue seems to be that the middle roller tilts too far when the door is opened until it goes 'the other way'. Obviously it has to tilt one way once the door comes out, but I think then it should remain straight to slide along. If I keep some weight on this side of the door as I open it then it helps, but obviously this is difficult when opening it from the inside as you need to pull that end of the door, which dissappears as it opens. There seems to be a fair bit of play in the top and bottom runners and I'm wondering if there is some adjustment that can be done there, or is a new centre roller needed, and if so what sort do I need. I have seen a couple of different types of central / middle roller for the van on ebay and not sure which part i need. many thanks in advance for any help yo can give. Read more
